I want to softmod my PS2 so I can play games that my dad bought me when he was in India. I have a network adapter, PS2 games, PS1 games, an 80GB hard drive, PS1 memory card, PS2 memory card, and a computer. Using these tools, is there any way to format the PS2 hard drive or install some sort of OS on it so I can play my import games. Is there any way to format the PS2 hard drive to the PFS format through linux or something? I really want to play these games without having to buy additional software or hardware.
what kind of hard drive do you have? If it is IDE you should be able to get it to work. You have pretty much everything you need all you need to buy is an AR Max, so you can get the MC exploit on your memory card. After you do all of this you need to download the free program to convert pal to ntsc and it should work.
Sorry for not responding sooner, I never even got the email notification to this, lol. Ok, for hard drive, Ill either be using a Seagate 80GB or a WD 100GB. Instead of AR MAX, would Codebreaker for PS2 work? That's all I can find. Can I load ISO's with this softmod? What program converts PAL to NTSC? I'll be using this guide. http://ashholt.googlepages.com/ps2softmod
Well, the PS3 can create virtual memory cards on it's HDD, maybe through the use of a homebrew software you can make one too (even I don't see a reason why). And if you can't, I think theres a software that lets you save games on the HDD. and load it from there.
Do you know of this software? I need to do this because I am running out of space on my PS2 memory card.
There is a software. I think. I just forgot the name because I haven't been playing around with my PS2 and it's modding for some time. There was this website that was good for all sorts of homebrew files. I just forgot the f***ing name... it's theme colors were green and black.
