hi, i think i have a version 7 ps2 and i use swap magic 3.3 on it. I've had laser cleaning and allignment problems before but that's all been fixed and now my ps2 is working properly again. The only problem is, 2 days ago, i made a backup of pro evolution soccer 5 and it runs really slowly (well not the actual matches, just the loading times). I tried setting the disc speed to fast but that doesn't work and anyway the setting goes back to standard disc speed when the playstation is restarted. So, has anyone else had this problem before? Or does anyone else have any ideas about what i can do? Thanks.

i know for a fact that it's not the media i use because my friend uses the exact same media as me (verbatim dvd-r) and he used the same backup on his ps2 and it worked miles faster. Thanks for the help anyway.

Use 8x Verbatim DVD-R and burn at 4x and it should run flawlessly.

you can try a few things.
    1. try readjusting the laser
    2. try rebuilding the game
