othing new here in the PS2 world But i have a Silver Satin PS2 - SCPH-5003 and it has been modded, i have had this PS2 for like 2 - 3 years and it has never caused me problems. But now leave it for a weekend it the hands of my lil bro and it will not read discs at all so i don't know what he did. (Saw a damaged PS2 on eBay to which the seller stated it had "drop" and will not read discs) So i am not sure if my lil bro gave it a beat in or not (Sorry for the Rant).... But i opened the PS2 numerous times cleaned the laser with Isopropyl (Rubbing Alcohol) with a Cotton Bud to no avail...any Disc will spin the laser moves up and down on the coils as well.. I also changed the laser from a PS2 i bought for like £3 lol from a car boot sale but unfortunately mine was a Sanyo HD7 and that was a Sony one KHS 400-c, correct if i am wrong but i read somewhere this sorta combination won't work. So all in all my PS2 doesn't read no discs and to me it seems it just had its day even though so suddenly. (Also my backups are copied from a speed of 2x - 6x MAX) So i was wondering if there is any other issues besides the laser i could be facing and if i could be directed to the Correct Sanyo HD7 laser, because i have seen a few Sony ones and any Sanyo HD7's i saw has the word Sony Part. So just want to make sure i purchase the right part. Apologies for the big ass rant in a first thread and any replies. thanks in advance ! ======= UPDATE !!! ========= Just bought a brand new HD7 laser and PS2 still won't work :anxious Any ideas the laser seems spin and sound like its reading much more smoother but it won't load any thing and i get a disc read error at end Help lol, thanks...
