I have no imports myself, so I can't fiddle with it to see what works, sorry.

I'm sorry, but I'm getting pretty frustrated with this prodject of mine. I got a fliptop recently with Swap Magic 2 because a got a soder chip on my old playstation and now it can only play imports, and I wanted to try and keep off that road if I could. So, I have been trying to make backups of my games, and all of my CD games work just fine from Nero, but I've wasted 2 days trying to get my DVD games to work and looking for answers. I'm using Sony DVD-RW's on a VAIO DVD writer and software ranging from RecordNow DX to a million demo applications, and my last attempt was with DVD-Decrypter, but all of them get that pink border around the boot-up screen as a result. An explination would be great, and a solution would be even better.
    Thanks.

Yup, I'm creating an image. I've been following some tutorials for PS2 DVD buring, but they don't seem to help.

Sony DVD-RW's, and I've been trying to burn my DDR and Matrix. Neither of them have worked.

there's your problem.with rw there hit and miss.you need either dvd-r or dvd+r depending on your ver of ps2, dvd+r's only work with v4(70%of the time)v5-v7(100%)
dvd-r are supposed to most compatible, all system v1-v7 are compatible

Thanks! I'll try that as soon as I can. I guess I can stand to loose a few DVD-R's for the sake of experimentation. :)

    I have a version 3 ps2. I just bought a hp 300i 4x dvd + r dvd +r/w. from what i understand a version 3 ps2 can't play copied dvd + r games, only dvd -r? even modded? i would most likely go with a swap magic.

    any info would help...thanks

Your chances of it working are VERY slim. If you already opened the package and installed it in your PC make a backup DVD to see if it plays. That will confirm if your PS2 will read "+" media.

If not try to exchange the burner for a "-" type or get the Sony DRU-500a it does - & +.

Is there a way to burn multiple PS2 games to a single dvd and then be able to select them ala a OS bootloader from the ps2 browse window?

I'm assuming that there needs to be either special software, or a patch for the iso's...

help please! for i've been searching for this for a couple of months now...

    thanks in advance

I am facing a problem with my backups
When i put my backup in the Tray and press reset
    I hav a magic 3.1
I hear a screaching noise for a second and the game loads perfectly
When i take oput the backup it has many scratches
    Wat could be the reason
Could it be the laser to be cleaned
    Or something else
I put my backups in a plastic sheet
    Not in a dvd cover
Could that also be the problem
Pleez tell me cause i dont want to waste money on my backups
One more thing could bad quality of a DVD be also a problem
    Thank u

I don't have experience with Magic chips but can say with a high amount of confidence it has to do with the PS2, maybe the tray is damaged or the drive mechanism isn't picking the disc up high enough to clear the tray itself or something to that effect? Definately ask this in the forum under it's own thread. You'll get more "hits" for an answer.

i have a ps2 v4 (it does read dvd+r) and i am using a slide card and gameshark v2. I am using Memorex and Verbatim dvd+r discs. I am using Alcohol 120% to burn my backups with. I am having trouble with games playing. When i get to where you use the slide card to put in the backup and push X it doesnt switch screens it just stays at the gameshark "updating code list" screen. I have tryed with backups of Madden 2003,Midnight Club 2, and Tiger Woods 2003. I did get tiger woods to boot once but it wont boot anymore. Plz help.
