PS3 audio problems

    I have a PS3 60 gig. Plays BluRay movies and games quite nicely. Problem is I get no sound from Std DVD's all I get is just the video. I have a HDMI cable and selected this for audio playback. Can anyone direct me to how to correct this audio error?

    After selecting HDMI Audio Out, did you Manually select your Audio Format's out or Select Auto Detect.
