When you say PS3 Backups are not playable, does this include PS1 backups too? Or is there still a way to play those, maybe directly from the HDD? Cuz I know that you can only play PS2 backups with the swap switch thing. But is there a way to play PS1 backups without doing the swap switch?

IMO in every FW update that Sony releases, they update the security too.

    How i see it
Like BD Vs HD-DVD war, that one great reason that BD won the war was the copy protection, something like that is happening to consoles.

The console that will not crack, or will crack last, will get more games and exclusive ones.

I dont think that i have to explain why.

lol, well, If they would update it, we wouldnt get so many newbs asking the same question over and over, since the date is old.

Well to be fair I think they just don't read the stickies or use google before they post the question, the date may play some part but its mostly ignorance of common sense.

I could care less if the date isn't up to date. It is just common sense that backups can't be played yet. In fact it would be better if it didn't have the date in it. This way we wouldn't have people asking for it to be updated.

    Very true canuckerz

I'll try and remember to update from time to time - or some other mod will. I like date bit - just my 2 cents - but to me it shows aD is staying up on the topic.

You should make this a big bs thread like. ********Play PS3 Backups! Read here!********* Then be like it can't be done yet so don't ask the question. Just discuss in this thread.

As big of a douche bag move as that sounds I honestly think it would be alot more effective.

There are ways to get past the firmware check and still access the psn but they're quite inconvenient.

I dont care about PS3 backups as much as at least getting homebrew to work on the PS3, cuz I know how expensive, hard and time consuming it would be to make a backup anyways. But I guess getting backups to work would mean that Homebrew would run as well.
