Ps3 Camping, Where & Why?

Yeah...quite a few according to him. I'm not liking the way things are turning out.

 

yeah this console release is gay. f*** sony up their thigh a$$es for having so few consoles. what a gip.

 

each best buy in the united states will get at least 20 60GB ones and 6 20GB ones accordind to there ad.

 

They "said" to have a million by the end of the year. But the line race has already started. This is exciting.

 

i herd a certain store in NYC has no less than 100 ps3s for sale and... this is so fusking crazy.... 100 to GIVE away! this is not a joke, i am being 100% serious.

i also herd of certain stores having "no camping" polocies, they put up signs that say if you camp you will be arested for trespassing. you can only start getting in line the day of the opening. i am part of a three man team for gathering ps3s, so i may have 2 to sell. ill post on these forums before they get put on ebay.

and as far as people being pissed off that so few are being released... there is a BIG reason for that. suposes they have horrible bugs or glitches? its the very first gen, the very first gen of any system usualy has some pretty big bugs. if they made loads of them then they would have to recal all of them and eat so much money. the first gen is like a test almost.

 

At the Circuit City in Union Sq NYC, there's ALREADY tents set up and people sitting in chairs, I'd say there's 6-10 people there already. The midnight launch places will be swamped.

 

i called my local bestbuy an hour ago and they said that they don't know how many they're getting and even if they did, they arent allowed to tell anyone. thats f***ed up

So here is an update on my situation. My brother (in Fargo) is going to set up a tent tomorrow (tuesday) anywhere from 12-6. He will then camp there through the night, but leave at 5 AM (he has to finish a lab for class). Hopefully nobody will kick him out (he's leaving his tent set up in the line). He'll be back anywhere from 12-1 that day (wednesday). I'll then get out of school, drive to fargo, and ...budge...and camp with him by 4PM. Again, hopefully people are nice/don't notice and let me camp with him. If all hell breaks loose and things get crazy I'll just tell everyone we're getting one. Two would be nice, but one will do if that's all I can get. Then my brother has to leave to do another chem/bio lab for school at around 6PM or something on thursday. He'll be back after a few hours. I'm hoping that we can use the excuse that he was getting food/going to the bathroom/checking on family/something like that, so that he can come right back in line with me (and we can get two). Who knows, maybe nobody will notice. More realistically though, they will and hopefully they buy the excuse. What do you guys think?

 

Imma steal one from someone who finish's buying one. lol, im joking.

 

what date and time are most of you guys planning on camping out? Do you guys think I have a good chance if I camp out early morning on thursday 11/16 at around 5-6am? New york here.

 

before any of you guys camp please take this advice and CALL the store you plan on camping at. i may actually spend a night in the cold at Target, but the reason why i am saying this is....

i called target today and their policy states that NO ONE is allowed to camp outside the store during their business hours. here they close at 10pm, so basically you can camp anytime after 10pm on the 16th. the manager would not disclose how many units they were receiving, but he did say at 7am on the 17th, he will had out tickets to the first whatever number of people. those with a ticket, get a ps3 and those who don't go home empty handed. it doesn't hurt to call and ask, as i am sure some would be a bit pee'd if after camping for a few hours or a day they were told to comeback on thursday...

 

yeah good idea. tomorrow is tuesday, one day before i want to head out, so i will call then to a few places.

and no my account was not hijacked, im just a little po'ed at sony for possible shafting my chances at the console. if people are already waiting in places is tomorrow too late? geez this is rediculous.

 

So you think by 5am on Thursday will be a little late living in nyc? I mean shit...some guys out there are already f...ng it up for everyone by doing a week in advance. Now that's thirsty! It must be that most who area already there have nothing better to do than sit around and wait with no type of responsibilities whatsoever! damm kids lol!

 

Dude are you in NYC? I live in NyC and was planning on camping out on thursday. Where are u planning on camping?

 

Pleas post that information as a PM so you guys don't get in trouble, I would hate to see you guys not ba able to be here anymore.

I called Best Buy and the sales associate told me 100, he was 100% sure to, he said they just received that info, i thought for sure he was joking, so now if i'm like 75 people back, im still getting one, so happy

 

maybe he was messing around? you live in a big city?

 

Well yeah, i wish they had more units myself, but what can you do? But seriously, its not up to Sony to say when people can start camping, if other people wnat to quit jobs just to camp out and you don't get one because of it, well more power to the people that can do that kind of crap.

 

I don't think he was screwing, but who knows. I live in Montreal.
