Ps3 Camping, Where & Why?

I live in nyc and I called a local best buy and they only said they're expecting 20 units. Don't keep your hopes up, because 100 is not happening. Plus look closely at your sunday's best buy add, it says that supply is limited up to 20 units.

I would consider montreal to be a big citiy but it has all these mini city's inside of it. Also I just cant get over that people are camping from yesterday sheesh...


Yeah I doubt 100 ps3 because I phonedmy local futureshop=bestbuy each said around 20 so...

I bought Madden and Call of Duty 3 on BB.ca, and now it says outta stock, so i might end up not getting any games to start. I live in a Suburb in Montreal, how bout you

Hah... Thats a good idea. Too bad I won't be able to practice until that coming Monday. I have to go ut of town to see the Packers play the Patriots. Hopefully they can somehow manage to pull off a 'W'. Ohh well... I think that is a good idea though. Could even make some sort of tourny or something.

 

Yo for 100 ps3 maybe that is combined with all of the montreals best buys. Were did you here that there were going to be 100 ps3. Also the Suburb in Montreal neever heard of that...

 

heh my school has a pd day on monday so i can play ps3 for 4 days straight. on another note, has anyone bought any games for it yet?? i preorderd nfs carbon n its suposed to ship out on the sixteenth so i shud be able to get it by monday rite??

 

Im sure games wont run out so I dont se the point in pre-ordering games....

 

If Resistance manages to get out of stock... Sony will have a very dissapointed customer. However, I doubt i since I have a Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Circuit City, and Target within a mile of each other. Very slim chance of the games selling out. Can't wait... only 69 hours until I get my PS3 and play it. Can't wait.

It's not a Suburb really, but its not Montreal, since every city is independent now, i heard 100 ps3's from a Best Buy in Pointe Claire.
I pre-ordered my games late october, and saved 10$ a game, but now the game's prices have already gone down for Release Day.

Just checked now gues you were kind of right they are recieving 25-100 so it could be anything really....

 

lol, 25-100 that's pretty damn undecisive, why can't they just say the actual number.

 

hmm... well thats a HUGE estimate. The most I have got was 10-30 PS3's.

@face... I will get my PS3, unlike other money hungry people, I will keep it. Trust me, I will get one, if not... something bad is going to happen... I just need to get some concrete plans on how many units each store is getting.

 

i talked to an employee at best buy when i played the ps3 (details in the ps3 box something thread) and he said he expect at minimum 25 of the 60gb units, but they havnt recieved anything yet.

I've known about PS3 seeker... however, it is just the decision of where to go. I can either drive 40 minutes to the Chapel Hill Best Buy which is doing a midnight launch, so 100ish PS3's. Or go to my local CirctuiCity, Wal-Mart, or Target and try to be 1st in line. On Thursday night right before BB closes, I am going to call to see if anyone is camping out already and if so, how many. Then if there is less than 50 ( I want to be garunteed a 60GB) I will have my dad wait there from 7 am to 4 pm when I would show up and takeover. Or I can go to Target which has a no camper policy until after the store closes which is at 10, then once they get the # of people wanting a PS3 to be the same as the # they are getting, then they wil hand out tickets. That would beat staying overnight. Then the CC emplyee was a dick so I'm not going there. And wal-Mart has had ALOT of calls and are expecting a minimum of 10 60GBs. Decisions decisions. What do you think I should do?

 

if you want to garantee yourself a ps3 try not to be farther than 20 people back if you have the option. on a midnight launch, i'd aim around 75.

 

Keep in mind though, I want a 60 GB version, and Wal-Mart stores are having a minimum of 10. And Target isn't exactly sure. Approximately according to the Best Buy ad, 20 60Gb minimum, and 6 20GB minimum are anticipated. So that is about a fourth of all the consoles are going to be 20 GB, so yeah, I would definately need ot be in the first 75. If I go to the midnight launch, only 52.5 more hours left!! I can't wait.
