I did download the guide and went through it.
It looks quite good and it is definitely something a lot of people will enjoy using. Ryu77 and Odin do give all the info needed in this (an the other) thread, but it is all over the place.
A guide like the one you are working on is the max.
I do not know how 'correct' the information is, but I am sure that people here will be able to find out.
Why don't you create a new thread about this guide with the objective of collecting corrections (if any) and extentions and making the guide as complete as possible?
You could than post the updates, corrections, extentions etc. in new versions of the guide. Your guide will become better and better. Maybe even turn into a 'Bluray disc creation for Dummies' :)

Hi everyone...i'm new on this forum. I hope you can help me with a little problem.

I usually use TsMuxer to make mkv playable on the ps3 (.m2t) thru TVersity.

Today i just got the last (second) "little city" episode, but tsmuxer say "can't detect stream type in file ****.ac3"

I tried to demux it wit MKVextractGUI, same problem.
Same passing the ac3 file through delaycut.

Should i just take the SD version...

I think mkv2vob will fix this problem. I have never used it so good luck.

i got a mkv file with ac3 5.1 audio. i demux it with tsmuxer and transcode it into aac 2.1 128kb vbr using belight. then i tired to remux it with tsmuxer but it says "can't detect stream type" when i add in the aac file. what's wrong? i am going to try again with cbr. thank you.

    here are my belight settings:

Why not keep the AC3 file, much better quality. However if you must have AAC, use a program called YAMB and remux to MP4, which will still be playable on the PS3.

AAC is not in the Blu-ray spec, so tsMuxeR is pretty picky on which types of AAC it takes, I haven't come across a AAC file it would take yet.

ok, i have been fiddling around with belight to convert a ac3 to aac that's compatible with m2ts with no success. can m2ts even contain aac that will play on ps3? i should have asked this question first. stupid me.

odin24, thanks. i downloaded yamb and mp4box. i pointed yamb to mp4box in settings. i tried to mux my h.246 and aac 2.1 128kb vbr but it came up with some crazy error. did i not install yamb correctly?

man, i have been at this for 5 hours now. the fatigue is kiling me. i just want to know how to convert ac3 to aac 2.1 that can be contained in m2ts in tsmuxer.

    Stupid question here -

I've got an eight-channel (is that even possible?) AAC audio stream that I'm trying to convert to (maybe just stereo) AC3, but MeGUI always errors. I could try using BeSweet or Belight (but haven't yet), but I just wanted some advice first.

First of all, if the PS3 can play AAC files (after all, one of the soundtrack ripping options is AAC), why is it that it's so picky about them? (On that note, which format would you choose? I believe there was AAC, mp3, and wav, but I'm not sure.)

Secondly, when downgrading to Stereo, will all the "right" audio be moved to the right speaker, and the "left" audio to the left? What about any rear audio?

And, uh... well, I think that's it, actually. Thanks for the tip on bitrate calculations, odin.

    EDIT:

In answer to your question, mlus, you really should just keep it as an ac3 file, which the PS3 can read. Why are you trying to convert it?

    newbie help
i dled a movie and it had a bat file a meta file the mkv movie imgburn and tsmuxe so if i wanted to put on a disk to play on ps3 just click the bat file and it does it all for you but only for that film this is what it said about it
    For playback on
    PS3, BD standalone:
    - extract all files to the same directory
    - run the batch file (.bat)

mkv2bluray is specific to this release and will not
enable other releases to play in BD standalone or PS3

now i want to do this for other mkv's i have which let me to here
i dled the tsmuxer opened tsmuxergui selected the mkv file
now im stuck what output do i choose?
if i create a blueray disk does it have to be burnt on a blueray disk???

All you need to do is use tsMuxeR to remux to Blu-ray, and IMGBurn to burn to DVD (UDF 2.5)... that's all. Be careful though, most mkv's aren't Blu-ray ready and need to be resized to a Blu-ray compliant resolution. Either 1920x1080 or 1280x720.

You'll need to recode it to fit. There are instructions throughout this thread, and this one.

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/639346

Also, you could remux to m2ts and play directly from the PS3 HDD. There are a few concerns with this though.

    1. Audio must be AC3 (DTS can be converted)
    2. No subtitles
    3. Files larger than 4GB must be copied via a home network, or split to 4GB chunks using tsMuxeR, then you can use a thumb drive.
