My controller has been driving me nuts for the past few months. What its been doing is suddenly the controls will lock up for a random amount of time (usually around 30 secs) sending me into circles when I'm in any game; understandably frustrating when I'm playing an online fps. The other thing its been doing is just randomly shutting off no matter what the battery charge, this is the less common of the two, it only happens a couple times a week. Yes, I have tried resetting the controller, with no result. What should I do? It's the controller that came with the system so if I were to return it I'd have to send the rest of the system back too, and the system itself has been working spot on and its the 60 gig too. Unnecessary to send the whole kit back just because of the controller but its driving me nuts.
I would buy a brand new 1 from ur local game shop, then switch controllers and take it back to the store tell them that it's faulty then ask for ur money back... it's cheeky but the shop will return it back to sony and claim their money back that way.... so in the end sony get their faulty pad back, you get a new 1 and everyones happy lol
Hey Canuckerz,ring Sony up and explain the problem to them,i dont think you will have to send the whole system back.
The controll pad should have the same warranty as the PS3. I think there were a few problems with the release ones but Sony are under obligation to fix it.
Mine wasn't a release I purchased it around the end of June. Anyway I'll give sony a ring and see what to do.
