Does anyone have a link to a tutorial for disassembling the 40gb ps3.The newer version....I am trying to get to the fan to check and see why it makes this noise..i have opened many 40gb regular, but the newer versions have different screw patterns and i removed them but seems to be something else holding the bottom casing on.
id say just star taking screws out i dunno bout the 160gb consoles but its not that hard to take apart,if ya run out of screw to pull out it should all come apart,ya may need to also remove the hard drive bay
Thanks for the try but i have removed the screws that i saw but there must be something thats hidden my view for the remainder of the screws..Some one that knows can you please post.
Thanks again but this is not the newer versions of the 40gb.. This is the older version that uses the kes 400a.... i have disassembled over 50 of these ..I am looking for the 410 laser model..Thanks again for you effort.
did anyone ever find a tutorial on how to disassemble these new 80 gb ps3s..i have taken all the screws out but something on the back left side is holding it down..
I was looking for that tutorial also; my 40GB has the black plastic power supply that I could not find any pictures of anywhere. If you are still trying to get the top off, I found it came off very easy when I shook the top a little while holding the bottom steady. I pulled up from the back, and tilted the top forward untill it popped off. If you already have the top off and the power supply removed, then all your screws should be easily vissable...but you must remove the power supply first.
