in australia your looking to pay around 80 bucks for your average game where as platinum will set you back 100 bucks yes how dear is that si like ps3 games are gonna be like 100 bucks for average games. Cheaper to hire them for 5 bucks.
renting games is expensive as balls. A 360 game to rent from blockbuster is 8bucks and change. The way to go if ur renting is gamefly but even that is like 20 a month.Still no confrimation on game prices, guess its tgs. Cost of ps3 components is rising hope that doesnt kick the price of games up
wrong sony has announced that on launch day the games will be 39.99 after launch day how ever the games go up to 60.00 sucks huh
Wow i thought this thread was dead. The cost production cost of ps3 going up will not in any way affect the price of games that outrageous. So what anyway if the cost is up I'm still paying the same price for everything that i would have. It really is insignificant
yes to you maybe but u r not every fan though. im just thinking they need to make their money back somehow its not a coinecidence they spoke of $100 games.what is that guy talking about? $39.99 for a game never once heard that, show me a link and make me look like the idiot that i am until then i'll be semi-smart me.I think people would be talk about that and this thread would be closed if that was the case.u care not about price which is unusual is all im saying
it's not unusual. As long as i'm paying $600 for ps3 and $60 per game why should i care what it costs them?
so they have said games are $60 each? cause i didnt hear that and the only time ive heard of that is from that guy but i asked for a link and didnt get one.if the production costs go up ur saying tehy dont intend to do anything to make their money back, cheap games with new technology, free online play, seeling console at $400 loss its not adding up now is it?
Or maybe it's that those reports you read are overinflated and the production has only really gone up by a dollar. I still haven't seen figures. Remember you asked what the costs were
http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=77088 notice the title SONY SPEAKS. So when dony says good we should believe it but bad we shouldnt? im getting the hang of things now.u rprobably right sony adressed pricing over a dollar increase boy am i an idiot
at futureshop, the games are 74.99 each. its like the n64 days all over again. Link: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/class.asp?logon=&langid=EN&catid=24293
WTF thats way to expensive that sucks Those games better go down in price and fast. Oh well i guess i will still buy games like must haves. Untill they go for used and rentals.
Looks like thats price is everywere http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/dept.asp?logon=&langid=EN&catid=24334. 75 dollars canadian as well I gues there 5 dollars more thne the 360 games for new releases.
according to OPM, the average current gen game costs 3-5 mil to develop and the average next gen game will cost 12-15 mil to develop. Ive always thought $50 was rediculouse for a PS2 game and Ill do the same thing Ive always done for next gen: wait a few months for the game's price to drop.
if the price of games is $5 more than 360 games, i don't think its that big of a deal. it would be nice if pricing was the same, but there are games that are on both systems that will vary in gameplay. for instance; developors behind COD3 have said they are incorporating the tilt functionality in their game, which could be an added experience. $59.99/game would be nice, $64.99/game would be ok, but $69.99/game would be my breaking point. i too will probably end up waiting some games out for price reductions or buy 2nd hand games.
**sry double post* i would imagine that offering downloadable content (at a price) could help developers recoup costs. hopefully they don't get too greedy and start shortchanging gamers
I think you make an awesome point hade. $5.00 more would be just about right. I didn't hear about COD3 having tile on ps3 thats cool
