Interested to know as I like shooters, boxing etc and will seem weird with no force feedback

Thats a huge drawback is no rumble feature. Any game that is out for both PS3 and Xbox 360 I would purchase for Xbox 360 over this feature alone. I can't imagine playing Call of Duty without rumble.

    Have you got a PS3?

I really cant imagine playing certain type games without the rumble, it must take away 50% of the gameplay experience

I have a Playstation3 and it really doesn't bother me. My 2 PS2 controllers from launch must have been defective because the rumble never worked. I guess it may just be because im not used to the feature.

    @ ibjaredu

I remember when the rumble feature was added to my N64 it really did change my gaming experience totally.

I dont know why Sony took it out for this motion sensor thing, it just doesnt compete should have had both

Wow a little "rumble" is what sells games huh....whatever. I myself like how light the controller is without it and how long the controller stays charged (especially without the $50 additional charger like a 360).

And it was taken out because of a stupid company "claiming" they had a patent on it when it was all BS and Sony out of principle decided not to pay future royalties (which I agree on).

Oner you have to admit the rumble feature added immensly to gameplay, shooters, fighting, driving in fact nearly all games!

You can 'feel' when you take a hit or crash etc etc

You really prefer this new controller to the old one?

Rumble was an ok addition but it wasent that amazing. Even in some games thta used rumble I found myself turning the rumble off because it was annoying and screwed me up..... Besides I would rather have the six-axis controller, wirless, motion sensing blu-tooth controller then just a controler thta rumbles.

I think the Sixaxis was the best controller modification since the Dualshock for PS1.

Suppose it depends on how the motion sensing works on the PS3 and if it is really utilised or turns out to be the rushed add on.

it seems to work really well on Motorstorm. I don't see why everyone makes such a big deal out of the Wiimote if PS3 can do the same.

Yeah I always found that I liked the sony controller the best it seemed to be the most organized in button arrangement.

Also the motion sensing is fine, I found that heir is no problem to it.

EDIT: The wii motes are cool and all but it gets so annoying and tiring after a while because your moving all around and stuff. But those controllers are cool and all but I dont really want the "in-the-game" experience. I would rather just sit down and play normally.

Could you imagine Goldeneye for the N64 with no rumble??

    Me either....

Sony fans are fooling themselves if they think losing rumble wasn't a big deal. When some "real" games come out for the PS3 is when your gonna miss it the most.

Metal Gear will not be the same without the rumble feature, thats for sure.

i hope people see the trend here which is those who actually OWN the ps3 happen to be fine and like the current controller, features and all. i too own the system and don't mind or feel like anything is lost without rumble. i don't know, but when i played F.E.A.R. on my pc i didn't feel that anything was taken from the game because guess what, the keyboard and mouse didn't support rumble either!

i think some are a bit desperate on this argument...

Sony had to discontinue the 'rumble' because they were sued over patnent rights violation. Can't remember who sued them or the details, but that's why it is no longer on anything Sony.

I think people are exaggerating on both ends. sony fan boys are acting like there was no rumble to begin with and ms fan boys are acting like its the end of the world.

One question why do you want to argue which console is better constantly? It drives me CRAZY!!!!!!!! Whats the big deal??!?

your hands vibrating is nothing. try your whole body now that would be something. rumble feature was nothing, didnt even notice it most of the time. and the n 64 rumble pack sucked. at least the ps2 controler had the moters in your palms not in front and hanging down below your hands. Sixaxis is nice.

i like the controller. i go so long before ever wondering about vibration, hours even. it doesnt really effect gameplay. give the sixaxis time, there are no game out that really display its potential.
