i honestly don't think sony will release one, but i think there will be some sort of controller with a rumble feature released, most likely by third parties, for the ps2 games. if it plays the games but the controllers wont work they have to release something, right?

well you never know they may release a contoller later on with a vibrating function, i cant remember where but i read something on a company who have developed software that filters out the vibrating as not to affect the motion sensing, but it would be pointless for a thirdparty to release a controller with rumble if the new ps3 games arnt being developed to support a vibrating function, unless your plannin to play old ps2 games on your ps3

its not "disabled" but actually left out of the design completely. Sony incorporated the motion sensor technology into the controller and orginal stated that this addition would interfer with rumble or vice versa, so sony dropped rumble. ironically they were also sued by immersion over rumble. there have been several stories or reports stating rumble could be incorporated, but that could actually mean sony paying them royalties. something they don't generally like to do, so no rumble.

    this is the latest....

so now its not really a technicaltiy anymore (not that it really was to begin with), but simply a fincancial decision. either way, i play pc games quite a bit, played the game F.E.A.R. without rumble and really didn't feel like the game was missing or lacked greatness because of this feature....
