PS3 Launch Outsells Xbox 360 Launch

Zelda on GCN is the superior version, though. And Really, TP isn't as great as people make it out to be. I mean no more than a 9.0. Definitely not at the height of the 10s and 9.5s I've read. Only really truly "fair" rating I have seen has been Gamespot's(which people dog all the time).

 

This should be easy, one word HALO!. Halo was a launch title for Xbox and sold that console. I know it was the first game I purchased for the Xbox. It took some time to catch on and once it did, look out. It didn't sell as many consoles as Halo 2 probably aided in selling ,but every great trilogy has to start somewhere. I also think the Xbox was at the reduced price at the point of H2's release. Next Question!

What about super mario for 64. That was a launch title right? And everyone who had a 64 had that game.

 

I can care less about numbers fellas, Sony vs. PS3 vs. Wii, who really gives a crap who sold more consoles. All three consoles kick some major ass, let's just play happily ever after and enjoy all the future game titles that will be released.. Also, if anyone should get there acts together it's these damn game developers who don't unleash the full power of our consoles, come on!! enough of this firt gen shit already, with the exception of Gears and Resistence of course.. We are at there mercy, that's what scares me, not console numbers.. Let's hope they don't take 5 years to utilize the PS3 and Xbox 360's full potential, that's my only gripe..

The reason why it didn't because you didn't read what i said.You can still kill time by playing PS2 games on your PS3.

Nope HALO didnt come into the picture til couple months later because it was a new title.When XBOX launch & trust me i got my XBOX during launch people was not foaming at the mouth for HALO at the time.HALO got good because of word of mouth.People was dieing for Project Gotham Racing and Dead or Alive 3.Because the Pic's on them both was jaw droping.

 

Go google Xbox Original launch titles and you'll see Halo is on the list. You also cut my quote short, I stated that it to a while for Halo to catch on, but once it did people purchased the Xbox just to play it. You started this thread, now would be a good time to end it before you come off any worse.

 

Halo was a great launch tittle for the XBOX! I think that it wasn't suspose to be as good as it is tho!

 

Read on my post where i said that HALO was not a launch title..that my point learn how to read before you respond to someone.The point i was making and thank you for backing it(LMAO)HALO at launch was not a must have title people didn't know much about the game.Until people start talking about it.Hell game mag's had over looked this title.

Okay to address the people that has first grade read skills.How would HALO be a killer-app when people are just playing the game for the first time ever during launch so that mean its was not a killer-app til after the fact.Let me give you a ex:

If Metal Gear solid 4 launch on the PS3 it would be a killer-app why? Because it has a proven track record that its a high seller.If HALO 3 Launched on the 360 it would be a killer-app why because of what i say it has a proven record of being a high seller& a mostwanted title.

If you go back and read my post which you didn't i was giving you things to do until killer-app or a game that your are waiting for launch on the PS3 i didn't say buy a PS3 because it backwards compatibility Sony is still making games for this system unlike X-Box owner's that got dumped in the cold.The PS3 has many things to do that can kill time until better games are released Browser,Blu-Ray movie's PSP remote.Just to name a few.Unlike 360 the PS3 is not limited to what you can do.

 

I think maybe our definitions of "killer app" are different. How many people knew about Halo doesn't make it any less of a great game, and once people did start hearing about it, it definitely became a must have, but I suppose your definition of "killer app" means a game that you wait for months to come out.

Also, I am sure the PS3 is great, but, in my opinion, most people don't want to shell out $600 to play PS2 games and watch a HD format that may or may not take off. Also, the 360 offers just as much outside of next-gen games as well, live arcade has some pretty fun games, you can rent HD movies and shows, and you have the media streaming options, for example, for the xmas party we threw this year, we streamed music and a slideshow of past xmas parties to our livingroom flatscreen, it was different and gave people something to talk about while they got wasted.

Anyways, these are obviously just opinions and will differ from person to person.

The reason you dont understand where im coming from because your quoteing stuff from my statments that i never said.That why your having problems.Proof read before you quote someone that all im asking its not hard.Once again i never said that playing PS2 was the main reason to buy a PS3 i said that you still had the option to play PS2 game because support has not been dropped for that system other words just to killer time plus alot of Sony fans still have alot of favorites from that system.There are many more things you can do with the PS3 i was just giving one of many more options that all how simple is that.
