ps3 plays some games and not others plz help

    my ps3 plays some games but now it wont play most dont know why the screen comes up like its all scratched i have tried 4 different games gt4 tombraider modern warfare and moh 4 they are all diff regions not working i have a racing game i got in us it works no probs i live in ireland and have a 60g ps3 please help it also plays dvds no problem.
