PS3 playstation 3 can play divx burned dvds?

    So i've read a bunch of the threads, but i haven't come across the answer i want, so do playstation 3 (ps3) play burned dvd-r with divx files? So if i bought a ps3 today at best buy, would it play my burned divx dvd's?
    also, so a typical computer can't burn hd dvds or blu rays?

    I don't own a PS3, but I think they just added support for DivX playback in one of the latest FW updates. Post this in the appropriate area of the forum and you will get better results.

    i've played a few divx on my ps3 but not on a burnt dvd, i had it in my flash drive...
    why waste a dvd-r?

    Because you can burn multiple movies on one DVD.

    And disks are the only way to get by the size limit.

    2.20 the size limit was removed on DIVX files.

    I was refering to the 4gb size limit for all files.
