PS3 Price announced

from what i can gather this about a month old,and most have probably read it,heres a quote from the man himself....
Even Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi has been quoted as saying "It'll be expensive [...] I'm aware that with all these technologies, the PS3 can't be offered at a price that's targeted towards households."

Speculation about the price has kicked into overdrive recently, thanks to a report from analysts at Merrill Lynch that claim the PlayStation 3 could cost upwards of $800-900, and while consoles are often sold at a loss, if this is true Sony would be taking a tremendously huge hit to the pocketbook to sell PS3 systems for $400-500

Thxs Gamelover i tryed to tell cmk0121 yesterday that the games was going to play on 1080i and 1080p with the HDMI hookups.But he said it was for the BLU-RAY...LOL.We have some Sony Hater on this tread Damm.Look Sony is the King for right now so just live with it they are not going anywhere notime soon.Thats A Fact over 80 million consoles sold worldwide.So you can talk yours A$$ off for all i care but the fact of the matter is Sony is the number one retail game & console saler on the market.......

Sorry but I have to say I am no-ones boyfriend, I am no fanboy and I am far more educated than I can tell you about on a forum.

Like you I read everything on the net, and can simply only speculate. I have previously stated that I don't know what to believe and I am not biased, each to their own.

The links you guys have posted were very interesting indeed. The stuff about PS3 HD capability and one site stating 720p, 1080i & P would be standard in all software and movies, then all of a sudden it says elsewhere it is only achieving 720p at best. Then they did say AT THE MOMENT. They also said it depends a lot on developers and artists putting in the time to get it right.

It was stated that the current software was developed at 10 x DVD standard. So again conflicting information from different websites that you yourselves posted up, not me. What difference will we see when blue-ray is being utilised? It is going to take a lot of data in high definition and quality to fill a Blue-Ray disc and they are saying that they don't yet know how many layers they can acheive on a Blue-Ray disc, what I do know is that they have achieved 200GB or are very close to it.

I have to admit I was a bit gutted that the Killzone 2 footage was not an achievable game at present but then I still think it will be pretty amazing if that is what we are likely to see in the near future of either the 360 or the PS3.

Hell it may be that I end up favouring the X-Box 360 but then with my personal gripe with the controllers I don't know. Saying that I don't like the look of the controller for the PS3 either.
