from this artical my 1 big fear about the ps3 is gone and thats the price according to this artical wouldnt it be great if it really was $400-$300 http://biz.gamedaily.com/features.asp?article_id=11174
Way to go, Sony!!! Seems I won't have to wait that long to get the PS3 after all. Just hope they're right about the price.
yea the ps3 has got to be $300-$400 because if the ps3 were $600 everyone would buy the x360. so lets take a moment to thank ms for forcing a low priced ps3. way to go ms, way to go
Ummm...Not neccesarily. There have been 90 million ps2's sold compared to 22 million xbox's sold. Yea PS2 came out first but even if the PS3 is $499 which it probably will be, they will still sell A LOT. There are still plenty of people who will buy the PS3 no matter the price. PLENTY! Sony said itself that the PS3 is a system that not all household's that want it will be able to afford it. Xbox 360 premium cost $399, so PS3 will be at least $499.
Dude sony CEO hinted that the price will be between 300-450$$ Stop saying its going to be above that. NO ps2 didn'nt come out first!!!!!!!THE [bold]dreamcast[/bold] did! xbox sold 30+million. The ps3 will probably be the same price as ps2 when it came out. Sony Ceo eevn said that they will try to aim to the same price as the 360. By the way, they are goign to sell the system ata loss. Ps3 costs 493$ to make. Therefore they cannot sell it 499$. Concols always sell for less than they make. THey will probably sell it 399$. And we are talking american money here. IN canada its oging to be 499$. Previos sony concols always sold there conocl for less than they make it. And it was always arround 100$ or more.
This thread is pretty useless. Just move over to "How much will the PS3 cost?". Plus he also said it would be expensive and $450 would be reasonable for Sony already. I'm guessing that's where their aim is and they're trying to cut costs a lot now.
one more thing i came upon while reading some other guys post on a diff forum They make it at $500, sell it at $400, and the total loss is $100 per unit. Simple right? And Sony will kinna float them on the ocean to the US to pay nothing for shipping, and retailers like EB and Best Buy will sell them with no margin(because they're just nice guys like that). But then again, it doesn't really matter, because at this point, it's just a bunch of wild guesses anyway
