    Hi,
Yesterday, I was playing my ps3 on my HDTV plasma screen and during the game, the graphics suddenly went crap. Literally. I am puzzled because I checked my HD cable channels to see if it went crap too. But nope. It is still perfect. It's only my ps3 graphics that went bad.

Is this even possible? Because it was so crisp and perfect before and now, it looks like I'm playing on an old tv screen. The graphics are pix-elated and horrible. I tried removing all the cables of my ps3 and plugging it back again to see if it goes back to HD. But It did not happened.

Any experts out there that can explain why this happened? And share at least information on how to fix this. Thanks in advance

Maybe your PS3 overheated, it used to happen to mine a lot. Give it a day's rest, that might fix it :)

That's a possibility because during the game, the screen went all blank and it hanged. When I restarted it, that's when the graphics went bad.

I'll try your suggestion and hopefully it works.

Happened to me when I was playing vegas 2 a few times, it was due to overheating, it went away as soon as you went back into the xmb though.

^ how long did you have to wait in order for the ps3 graphics to be back in HD?

If it's an overheating issue, everything should be cool within a few minutes of being turned off.

    *sigh*
I tested it out today and the graphics are still horrible. I already gave it a day's rest and the graphics are still not in HD. I'm really running out of luck here.

    Is there an alternative solution?

If its still within warranty, I say to go give sony a call and have them fix it, rather than wait it out.

Have you checked that it's not gone back to the original settings? Make sure it's set to HDMI in display settings on the PS3

too bad, my warranty just expired.

And yes, I checked everything. The setting is on HDMI. Plus, I never changed anything. The graphics just suddenly went bad while playing a game.

I guess I'm stuck with this.
