PS3 Release Date , Price , Capabilities , Preorder

im just wondering why you all gang up on me and do the same things u accuse me of. you all "dont say this or that" and then go and say the same thing. you say everything i say is just nothing and all lies, but its the same for you. i research my stuff and im sure all of you do. there is no reason to accuse someone of spitting sh*t when i look at valuable sources and many many sites before i affirm something. this is suppose to be a help forum not a "lets all nag on one guy and make him look like a fool" thread.

 

I really hope that sony does have a running ps3 right now, there show is this month! If they dont have one running by now then there is no way there gunna release it this spring! Does anybody know the date of sonys big expo this month?

 

it sucks that we have to wait for the devestation conference in march for ps3 details! My guess is that ps3 will run you around $500, this includes one wireless controller and a 40gb HDD (I remember reading somewhere that its gunna have a 40gb hard drive but it was awhile ago so i could be wrong). Im thinking a november launch, not fall, nothing is released in the fall if you want to sell big release it right before xmas (the november launch of the 360 made demand for it skyrocket). With the cell processor and built in blue ray i think sony has the upper hand on the hardware division over microsoft at this point, but microsoft announcing HD-DVD and blu-ray add ons is big because by the time the ps3 is released alot of people will already own a 360 and if they want to watch HD or blu ray movies they only have to pay for the add on, not $500 for a ps3 (this is assuming that stand alone blu ray players will be very expensive when they launch this year)

 

Im gonna buy the PS3 instead of the Xbox360 not because 360 sucks(King Kong the game actually looks pretty sweet), but because the PS3 is not just a "gaming console", its much more. Its more like a super computer/entertainment center. Sony is introducing lots of new technology, and I am eager to try it out. Xbox360 is only good for well... playing games. Sony is still the biggest player in this game. Yeah it will be expensive, but the smart one who said its gonna cost $900 should should pull his head out of his a$$ and do some research.

BTW, why are all you 360 fanboys attacking the PS3? You already tired of your 360's?

 

no we are not tierd of are xbox 360's its just that people like anubis keep pointing out things like xbox 360 is doomed b/c is only has 9G, and even after we discus it they come back for more. most of the xbox 360 suporters have admitted that some things on the ps3 are better than on the xbox 360, but thats not enough for them they want to convert us properly, lol.

btw did you get the name ragnarok from a game called mech assult

 

i wasnt saying it completely doomed im just saying if all games become 2+ disked it will be a hastle and some people wont buy it.

and i remember an eidolon from ff9 called ragnarok, he was also a boss in that one castle in the desert. i liked it.

while it is true that we have not seen a working ps3 yet, i wouldnt be so unsure. We do
know that sony has bluray, and is probably capable of making a ps3, or at least with the
capabilities of the ps3. BUT i have new news that brought me back to this hopeles link.

I guy i know who works for sony (mostly in HDTVs.... not ps3s) said that y-day (now 2
days ago i guess) that he was in a conf.call 'bout PS3s & confirmed that
a-the ps3 WILL BE 1080[bold]P[/bold] yes, P. there was some speculation about this
earlier. Also, we will be seeing a working PS3 hoooked up to a SXRD HDTV (his end of the
deal) "Soon"

One major factor that sony lacks intirely is a good online system! What Microsoft did with xbox live is very innovative, very smart, and it works very well! This is one major factor that alot of consumers will look at when it comes time to decide between buying a 360 or a ps3. I myself will most likely own both, but if i had to choose online play would be something i would look at. Also, im glad that Unreal Tournament 2007 may launch with the ps3, sony needs a strong launch lineup like microsoft had.

 

Microsoft had a pitiful launch lineup for the Xbox360. And yes Sony already has a phenominal launch lineup. Warhawk, Project IM, Devil May Cry 4, Lair, Vision Gran Turismo, and my personal favorite, Metal Gear Solid 4 just to name a few.

Sony wasn't into online gaming as much as Xbox, but:
1)Sony's online service was free
2)The Socom series were and still are the most played console game online.
3)Sony will be focusing more on online play with the PS3, so no worries.

to the guy who dissed sony's online, i like it more cuz i can pick my own server and not be randomly inserted. plud ppl can join a game whenever and not just at the begining.

 

anubis. it seems like everyone (and espesialy me) pick on you, bu its becuase you dont reseach (like you suggest you do) on both systems, just your presiouse PS3. STOP with the 2 disc thing please, iam dying here.

I can see where anubis is coming from with Linux, and fair enough to him but he is in the minority. I have been working in a large elctrical store for over a weak and attended to 60+ customers so far. Everythime they look at a TV or computer they want the most simple to use for exactly what it does. This is with 90% of the customers and the people that have been working there for over 16 years all tell me the same.

I like computers but I like my console for its ease of use. This is how and why xbox live has the upper hand on the Sony PS3 if it has a plain normal OS.

 

There's talk of m$ bringing out a blue ray attachment instead of HD if HD fails to become the chosen media for movies. Some pple say m$ will use the new HD/blue ray attachment for games but I am 95% sure they won't because firstly m$ has specificaly said it will be used for movies and secondly I believe dvd9 to be just sufficient for this generation. But this brings me on too another question, if HD ends up being the chosen media for movies then wouldn't that mean ps3 owners having to buy a HD attachment for movies also? Also I know this has nothing to do with ps3, but theres soo little info on it, worms is coming out for 360 arcade how kewl is that guna be. Oh and commenting on the launch line up of 360, PDZ- got 8 or above, kameo-got 8 or above, PGR3- got 8 or above, condemed-got 8, COD-got 8 or above this is not including the sports games that I can't be bothered to check out and unfortunatly morrowind got delayed but overall I would say thats an impressive launch line up and if you look back in history I have never seen so many high scoring games in a launch, with ps3 launch only time will tell but remember that games can be delayed.

 

anubis it depends on the game, when it comes to picking your own game to play or whatever, like call of duty 2 has a really bad xbox live layout but halo 2 is perfect. also with xbox 360 live layout is even better than before b/c all you have to do is press one button and you can join a friends game.

so plz anubis stop with this xbox live can not pick its own server because it depends on the game.

 

chimpanel the launch lineup was not that great, what i mean is that although the base of the games are good they are just not finished, thats the feeling i get. they just all seem to have been rushed, but do not get me wrong they are great games and much better than most average games. we are starting to see proper games like fight night rounf three, which i played and personally think is awesome.

also i really, really hope they bring out a demo version of gears of war like they did condemed and fight night round three.

 

Really? damn, I believe you when you say that, how is PDZ? has that been rushed at all? Cos ive pre ordered that with my 360.

 

well for starters i never really liked those kind of games like pdz and MGS. but apart from that i really hate the game, its so damm boring and online play is not anything special, if you want my opinion get call of duty 2 and pgr 3 oh and DOA4 those are the best games for me out of all the releases. oh and if you are worrying about the lagging problem on call of duty 2 online then worry no more b/c they are making a new patch whcih will sort that out.

 

oh i forgot to mention the graphics on pdz are pretty smooth but thats the only good point, when DOA4 releases here i am going to trade that in for it. and i might do the same with condemed but first i will give it a chance before i sentance it to trade in

oooh i just saw an adveret for DOA4 on tv, cool i am going tomorrow to buy that, lol. so i gues its going to have to be PDZ OR CONDEMED, the decision is on, lol.
