Hi folks. I recently came back from my deployment to Iraq. I made a few bucks over there, so I decided to buy an HDTV. I don't do too much watching of cable TV, but I do enjoy movies and gaming. I big part of me buying this TV was for the upcoming Playstation 3. I ended up going with this TV - http://reviews.cnet.com/Sony_KDF_E50A10/4505-6484_7-31453800.html Along with http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...CategoryId=pcmcat40200050002&id=1140391861017 Now, I'm very happy with the style and setup of my system, but one concern has come to my attention. My TV supports 720p and 1080i. According to the PS3 specs, it will support up to 1080p. My questions - is my TV lacking the capability of 1080p going to hinder my PS3 visuals? If so, by how much? Is it worth trying to sell my current TV and upgrade? The TV is less than half a year old, so I would much rather keep it if possible. My TV supports HDMI, as does the PS3. I already have the HDMI cable as well. Any help is very much appreciated. If you need any more details from me, please let me know. Thanks. Eric
I think you should be fine with HDMI & 1080i. I can't tell much difference from 1080i to 1080p from the one's I've seen in the stores. If I were you I would go to a local BB or CC, etc. and check it them out for yourself with the same video on both.
