I am having a hard time deciding on what tv to get to play my ps3 on. I heard there going to go down at the end of the year. But to my question I was looking at the Vizio 42" but I haven't even heard of Vizio before and I don't even know if it's a good brand or even a good tv. So I need someone else's opinion on this brand and maybe what brand of tv to get. NOTE: I'm probably going to get a tv at the end of the year.
as long as the specs are good it wont matter what brand it is. generally when buying a tv what you want to look out for in the specs are: Native Pixel Resolution: Obviously the more pixels the better 1920x1080 bieng full hd, although you can get some going up to 1600x1200 but if the ps3 doesn't support it theres no point. Motion Response Time: How well the tv can display fast moving objects, check the specs for the MRT, good tv will have a time of 12 milliseconds, 8ms being the optimum. Contrast Ratio: How well the tv can define the Whitest white and darkest black parts of an image. an average tv would have a contrast ratio of around 1500:1 (1500 times brighter then black) any thing less then this especially on a tv larger then 32" will make the picture look washed out. Viewing Angle How well the picture shows when viewing from an angle. generally 120 degress viewing angle is optimum. You could always wait a few years and save up for an OLED TV...
I have a 46" Vizio, picture is great. I got the 1080p version (galleria i believe its called?). PS3 looks great on it. when i had my sattelite installed, the guy commented on how nice the picture was
