PS3 Vs. XBOX 360

Yea true that a lot of ppl think that the PS3 will have better graphics. But to tell you the truth, the way games are evolving i think that the PS3 games better have a hell of a story. Xbox games had a lot more depth in the story they told, ala Halo(1 & 2), KOTOR(1 & 2), and Jade Empire, to name a few. I think nowadays ppl want a compelling story to go along with their gameplay experience.

The PS2 had a good story with KillZone, MGS series, and the ton of RPGs they had. But from what i read KillZone for the PS3 will be the same game with better graphics. You know the MGS games will kick ass but then what?

 

These posts always make me chuckle. No one knows what the 360 or PS3 will be actually like until they've play tested actual units (not just dev kits) and used final builds of games. Those of you who are telling each other that this console will be better than the other.....does it really matter? Trying to figure out which console will be more popular is like trying to nail jelly to a wall. And if you buy a system just becasue it is more popular then more fool you. I buy the system I like and the games that I like the look of. If you like the xbox360....buy that, if not buy a PS3. Personally I've got both a PS2 and Xbox. I don't really have a favourite. They are good in their own ways and have good/bad games on each system. The next generation will be the same. Console's are still way behind technology wise compared the the current graphical capabilities of the latest PC's. I'll be really impressed when they match a high end PC's performance.

Well, everyone that comes here starts with a Newbie thig below their names...I mean I came here knowing some things but still was labeled as a Newbie. I have visited and read a lot of post here at AD before signing up.

 

I totally agree with Dan1677. We can't actually rate any next-gen console based solely on speculations, rumors and the like. I remember in the past I thought Microsoft getting in the console market was a bad idea for them. Sony has already taken the place of Nintendo as the main player in the console market. A couple of months later, I was surprised by the XBox capabilities (graphics, hard drive) compared to the PS2. I do have a PS2, no XBox and if I had to choose again, I would choose PS2 just because I find more interesting games for me on this console. It doesn't mean I wouldn't buy an XBox (I almost did lately), it means you choose the console that fits your needs the best. If you think you need them all, then buy them all! The ABSOLUTE best console out there actually and in the next 1000000000 years is the one you've chosen and the one you like playing. Period. Don't bother me with pointless debates about the power of this chip or the extreme realistic looks of this game: if the game sucks to me, it doesn't matter it has the best graphics.

 

i'm gunna buy the X360 because i have a ps2 and i regret that i never bought an xbox. i have been very disappionted with the ps2.

 

so many ppl saying that ps2 sold more just because it came out early. omg you are dumb. I didnt even buy a ps2 and i have an xbox (i prefer pc btw) but dont be just fanboys with closed minds and blind eyes. Ps2 is WAY more popular than xbox and probably ps3 will continue to be more popular than xbox360. There is something called BRAND EQUITY that makes people continue to buy the same brand because that is the one that they like. Guess what? Sony is the one that has now the videogame market and ps3 looks fairly decent to keep maintaining the first place. My opinion is that both consoles look great and even revolution is supposed to have a surprise and offer great games with not very great hardware. I just say lets wait and see

What a kill joy you are!!! The speculation about the next gen consoles is all part of the anticipation and build up before they are released. Its where Playstation fans argue with xbox fans (which is all in good fun btw)about how their system is gonna be better than the other. Your obviously not an old school gamer,or you would recall the days when we waited anxiously to see how the Panasonic 3DO would fare at games and then gave many a knowing 'I told ya so' nods when it was apparent that it sucked dog turds, or debates about what was better, the Sega Megadrive or the SuperNES (SuperNES was FYI).
So that will be enough killing of joy out of you Dan1677. These debates and speculation are all part of the waiting game when ever the next gen of consoles are due to be released. And if you disagree, then 'You, me, carpark, Now!' :-D

 

sure the ps2 has a lot of games some of them great but in percentage only like 25% of the games are worth buying where the xbox may have less games but they have a lot of them fairly good like 40-50% of them r good. besides if X360 is gonna b backwards compatible with only the top game that's still a lot of games for xbox.

i know a lot of u will disagree with me but think about it PS2 has like 2000 games and maybe 250-300 r really worth buying. but wat of all the rest? MS is making a good dicisson knowing that most ppl would want the best games.

Hey!! Its official now the Xbox 360 will come out for the holiday season and the basic kit witch is only the console and the controller is only $299 which is very cheap considering the original Xbox was almost $400 when it came out. The better deal though is in the $399 Xbox360 witch has all the stuff you'll want too buy anyway. It comes with the console, a 20 gig hard drive, a universal remote, a wireless controller(note basic version has wired controller), a wireless USB headset, ethernet cable, and high-definition AV cables both versions have an Xbox live silver subscription which is free. You'd be a complete idiot or really cheap to by the basic system considering the 20 gig hard drive seperate is already $100.Microsoft will also have other extras like a wireless ethernet adapter for sale.

 

i am getting the xbox360 and i am getting the ps3 as there will be games for the xbox 360 i will want and the ps3 there will be games i will want.

i want halos for the xbox360
and i will want the new final fantasy games for ps3

 

Xbox 360 has hd dvd and Ps3 has blue ray to play dvds I know blue ray is better but someone explain to me the stuff that makes blue ray better for playing dvds.

The Blue ray uses a blue laser instead of the dvd's red laser (witch the 360 still uses) but the blue ray disc is the most impressive which can hold more than 50 gigs of data compared to 360's dual layer dvd which can only hold about 18 gigs that means longer games and more features for the PS3. But the blue ray is still compatible with dvd and the quality is still High-definition no matter what.

 

It's so funny to see someone come up with this thread again. It's doing the exact same thing the old one did, people are flaming and probally going to get banned...

The Xbox 360's basic version is $300, the one that includes the HDD is $400. This is such a slap in the face, everyone was all against the PS3 for not including it, now MS won't either, they'll just offer you one bundled with a bunch of accessories and say they are "included it".

The huge argument for the 360 was that with an included drive, drive caching would be a default procedure for programmers. Now it's in the exact same spot as the PS3, except instead of powerful hardware for $400 like PS3, they are just going to throw in a bunch of accesories.

I read that PS3 will probably have Wifi internet or online thingy...and X360 will stay with ethernet.

 

Last time I looked and compared the 2, on basics of hardware I personally chose the PS3, but things has changed, blablabla

so I keep it to this, I wil just lay my trust on Sony, Im not going to be extreme pro Sono or what ever, trying to sell the PS3 to someone else as many here trys ^^. I have seen the discussions, checked the lists, and Im going for the PS3, just like the different range of games, gfx doesnt mather to me a bit, I prefer a great gameplay, good storyline, agreeable gfx, long range of options, and weapons. Normally I had Nintendo products, simply because of the games, nothing more, nothing less, cause, you can have and/or put in everything you want, but in the end, it comes down on simply playing games, Im not going to put a console in my room for the show, or hang it on the wall, just PLAY ^^
