PS3 Vs. XBOX 360

People if u read the new game informer, EA say's that fight night we seen at E3 that was running on the ps3, will look just like that on the xbox 360. 360 and ps3 will have the same graphic's. so let stop all this witch consoles is better, all three consoles will be great.

 

Actually Nintendo is going bargain bin $200.

 

$200 huh thats pretty good but i'm still getting the 360 because I haven't seen any gameplay footage on the revolution and the 360 is gonna have better games. I don't want to make a mistake like I did with the gamecube... that was a waste of $200.

 

how do u know that the rev will be $200 they haven't even released any specs there is no way u would know what price it is gonna be.

 

playstation have been around to long i recon xbox 360 will trash ps3 ive got a xbox and a ps2 (slim) i neva play the ps2 i admit there is a bigger heap of games on playstation but xbox is betta grapics and longer more interesting games

 

i couldn't believe that sony wasted all that money creating the ps2 slim when it could have been put to better use such as creating the ps3.

just a quesion, dunno if its already asked but ahh well.
well about the dvd formats, Sony usses blue-ray Xbox usses hdd ore some thing.
so if im corect sony can store up 2 max 54 gig
and xobx about max 32 gig (http://www.hardware.info/artikelen.php?id=104)

but if im corect xbox wil use HD DVD-R and that can store 15 gig
so sony hase the upperhand, now my question. doesnt the lagg of less storage on the HD DVD-R causes less quality for the games like smaller maps, the game graphics ect ??
ore will sony use a 23 gig blue-ray dvd.
if the are going to use a 50 gig disc its going to be so freaking expensive.

The Xbox 360 will use a 12x optical DVD-9 drive. Not HD-DVD. The capacity of the Xbox 360 will be limited to 8.5-9GB per disc.

Sony will use a BD drive, 25GB per layer. Because BD disc do not incorporate a glass layer like DVD disc, the manufacturing costs actually end up about the same. What they will charge will probally be in the 1000% profit margin however, just like how we are getting raped paying $4 for a dual layer DVD, that is extortion to anyone who knows better. I'd feel sick paying more than $1.50 for one. They will do the same to us with HD-DVD and BD-R however.

Hold on let me reiterate, Xbox 360 WILL NOT USE HD-DVD. As for the latest spec sheet.

but so does projectgothamracing3 infact it looks real . icant tell the difference between a car in that game and a real car . bill gates was quoted as saying that we both have built furais ours got out of the gate first and we at microsoft think that is very good thing . sony quot "the next generation starts when we say it does" after showing that cool eyetoy demo with rubber duckys i like saying rubber duckys rubber duckys ruber duckys , the 360 has a very inovative design the gpu is completly efficent .ive heard at peak its actualy 96 billon shader opps . the edram is cool it does z-compare wich determines what objects are infront of or behind wone another with out troubleing the gpu at all wich botheres every other pc chip known to man kind . because it has to go back in forth in memory to figure that . realy cool .but hey a two terra bit cell based computer run linux code sounds pretty cool to me two . and kill zone 2 of course .

i heard that microsoft is waiting for the ps3 to drive the price of a blue ray drive down but i dont how you would install it on a 360. so that sounds like a difficult course of action. to say the least

 

1. PS3 is targeted at $400

2. Sony owns the rights to blu-ray with a few other companies, are they goign to allow a competing console to have it? No, Microsoft will never have it in the Xbox 360, it will never be liscensed.

PS3 will run linux, the 360 will have a locked up media center OS, not much like windows but similar. They still want to sell computers you know.

The price tells you everything, for $100 more, the PS3 will provide the superior power. What developers do, and sales will be no reflection of that however. Come on, everyone is still goignt o stick to their brand. Anandtech has plenty of analysis and tech talk, to put the 360 to shame, check it out.

 

The Ps3 as preposed, processor will be twice the speed of the xbox 360 according to the sony coverage at E3. the graphics on both systems will be about the same even with different card companies. Xbox 360 is focusing on the online aspect of gaming a lot more I think than the hardware components and you can see that by them dropping the HD-dvd technology from the system. But I don't see where they are going with that because there only 2 million people are on xbox live with over 60 million consoles out there. The Ps3 does not want to be the slowest running or the farthest behind in tech side of the system as they were last time. The Ps3 is focusing almost to much on the tech side though by talking about shiping it as computer instead of a gaming console. But after all of that It is still all about the games and as long as sony has most of the developers support I will continue to go with the Ps3

 

Ok, ok, before you post something that difefrs from something else already posted, have some proof. And I am goign to do just that, right now, like I have to on a regular basis.

The PS3 will kick the Xbox 360's ass in every department we have specs for, not just the spec sheet, but inside groups. Like those provided in the links. These come from authors who sat behind closed doors at E3 and the like. The online aspect is one we don't know what SOny is doing for.

PS3, will always be a gaming console, but it's time to up the ante with the option for an OS. You don't know who's focusing on what, you don't, give me links if you think you have some actual evidence to support any of that crap.

Hey, I'm too lazy to read all this crap, but I just wanted to throw MY drunken slur in there lol. I think that with the graphics now days, it is becoming too good. I am not sure which system has better graphics, and I am not asking for an answer. The graphics in these machines are going to be so realistic, that I wonder if the graphics really matter as much as the designers think. Sure, its nice to be able to count blades of grass while you make this dude hit a ball. But why do we need these?? I am almost tempted to say the 32-bit or even 16-bit graphics are better than any other technology today. People are focusing less and less on teh actual gameplay and more on the bells and whistles. I think it is wonderful that we have the technology, but when games look more realistic than life itself, I will be playing a PS2 or maybe even just a plain old Playstation. I know you can count the pixels in it, so what lol.

I agree with razor mainly because I am a rpg player and simply put, I prefer to play my old rpg's over the new ones because they all focus only on graphics while the also did in the past, the stories seemed to be much better 8-10 years ago than they are now. That is just my opinion and until some game companies get that we will have more and more driver 3's in the world and less good solid game play games

 

Sony and Microsoft might end in like 5-10 years...Look at the big N, they are struggling like crazy, and sooner or later the big N will end up like Sega, and Sony and Microsoft (gaming industry) will be just like that unless they can improve the gameplay and stuff (controllers and smoothness) and keep making graphics better, because kids these days are attrated to good graphics.

 

Jumping into the gaming industry is hard, it's only easy to get kicked out of it. Sony and Microsoft are the new big players, and will be the only two for a long time. Until Nintendo realizes the importance of online gaming they'll be taking a backseat market share. There is no big N anymore, it's time to face that one.

 

I totally disagree the Nintendo Gamecube was completely successful and in fact sold better than xbox in Japan and the asian market. Also don't forget that Nintendo is the number one seller when it comes to the hand held market with the Game Boy. I also really don't think that online capability games are that important right now, but will be in the future though. Come on only about 10-20% of the console market play games consistently online.
