im only curious how you are so confident in a usa spring time launch and insisting on us to "read." do you think its possible to post some links that are relevant to your claim so we can all see the light??? BTW posting sony's site that says a spring time launch is not sufficient and is basically the reason leading to all the speculation along with the scarcity of info. they have continued to give out. im not trying to be an ass but i think its easier for everyone to understand and take what any1 says a lil more seriously when you post any revelant (pref. offical) news/facts.

 

yeah it will all depend on what sony do. if sony just do a ps3 march/april release in japan there will be no point in releasing halo 3 in japan they dont like FPS. so they probably leave it till europe and/or usa release of the ps3 which people have said to be november.

 

the 360 is an awsome machine and problably has more potential than the PS3, but then so did the older Xbox, and i didnt hesitate to change my xbox for a slim version of the PS2, so in case hystory repeats, im gona wait for the PS3.

 

i really dont know why people kept on buying the ps2 when the xbox came out, all xbox games had full dolby digital 5.1 support, most had live, and all had better, crisper graphics, displayed more colours. no game on the ps2 i know of had dolby digital 5.1 even though it had a optical port and dolby digital on the front.

and then sony release a silver one wow, i know it had the ethernet adapter included but it should have had that before, and people moan about buying a external hd dvd for the 360, when most with the original ps2 had to buy the ethernet adapter.

Sony take the piss, and string people along, why make a smaller one after 5 years. if you want to carry it around, you still have to have power and a tv. Oh and then they release a psp, basically a ps2.

According to this article, there are 2 games planning to be finished by spring, and.. 2 games in the summer time.

People bought the ps2, because the xbox was the first gaming concol from microsoft. It's like Honda or Chevrolet making PC's, do you think people will buy them? NO

And no not all your comments are correct. Although, technically, xbox is better tech wize. PS2 DOES BEAT IT ON SOME BENCHMARKS. Its a surprize that ps2 ran better on some games, than xbox.

well to answer why, True most people did already have a ps2 and titles when the xbox first dropped onto the scene. When ps2 user had strong titles like tekken, metal gear solid, and plenty of others; no one really wanted to take a chance with the xbox b/c no one could say for sure how strong their lineup of games would be. And though some will still argue untill forever the ps2 had the games that buyers wanted. The big title games that had already been put on the map as elite games. The dolby digital wouldnot have much if anything at all to do with persuading people back then either as most gamers play the system for which title games that suits them best. Always remeber that the games make the system, the system doesnot make the games.

 

yeah ps3 may release in march in japan as most games said to be released in spring/summer have japanese titles. so it will probably be released everywhere else in november. we'll have to wait and see what is said at e3, if nothing happens by then.

 

personally i think its better for ps3 to ship in early fall for NA. im sure like most i too would luv to have my hands on a ps3 in spring but whats the real point??? so we get this system then what?? its summer..most people shouldnt be locked up inside for 4+hrs a day playing some system in the summer....its just not healthy. most families have vacations or trips which would equal less cashflow for commodities such as this...the best time economically for sony to launch this in NA would be to have an early fall launch. for any1 who already didnt know the ps1 launched in septermber and the ps2 launched in october. i'd expect something similar in regards to a launch set sometime for late septemeber to october. its funny that m$ launched in nov and everyone seems to think sony would be quick to follow, but they have Never released their consoles that late...even the psp made its way to europe in september....

 

i think it will be a summer release for japan with america in like september, europe in december and the rest of the world 2007.

 

yeah, early summer in japan like may-june, then they can show off. maybe even a usa release along with japan. europe will get shafted with a 2007 release, or maybe an 06 nov-dec release.

Please, someone who doesnt even work for sony, can't say when the ps3 is comming out. Please, they've updated the cell, that means, its a bit delayed, take a hint, it wasnt showed at ces, and its being shown AT E3 May. yes May, It's specs will be revieled March 1rst & 2nd. It's being reshown at e3 may 16 2006. NOW PLEASE, dont say "its comming out in spring." You are saying what you want to happen. Not what is going to happen. Atleast say "I think its comming out in spring." Not that it IS comming. You ar'nt entitled to say this when there is no proof. They usually tell us before hand, and its almost been a year since we've heard bout the ps3.

When was 360 shown at e3? And how long was it till it came out? Think about that.

I agree with what Hade said. Its most likely gonna be released around the same time as the PS1 and Ps2 did which was sept. and oct. Makes sense since its around holiday seasons which would boost sales.

Doesnt really matter when it gets released really cuz its bound to be released eventually. Kinda better if it is released later so they can do more teting and junk.

 

then maybe august. its b4 septemer and it would get kids money from working over summer. plus anyuthing sells at christams so having it out earlier to proves its worth buy for your kids is a good idea. plus it gives kids more time to beg parents and if they get a ps3 earlier and the parents buy lots of games and periphreals for the software sales required to make profit.

 

ps3 is gonna over sell xbox 360. it is goin to dominate the consolo area. why u ask? this is a simple answer if u look at it ps3 when release will have more title games than xbox, some examples would be Metal gear soild 4, killzone2, Devil may cry 4, resident evil, and lots more, the games i named are only the so call "American game" we haven include te jap games therefore there is more games to be release when ps3 comes out. compare to xbox, xbox Main game was halo but when 360 was release there was no halo 3, but perfect dark 0 this was the only game where plp bought 360 for. if u hav played the N64 perfect dark u will know y. the game was amazing for a N64 system jus like halo but shitty graphics. but when ps3 gets release there is more games that plp wanna play mostly all storyline games (aka MGS4,DMC4,RE) and such. i personally won't buy ps3 until decent mod chip is out like put in game n load kinda thing
