looks like the blue-ray hd era isnt looking so pretty for the consumer. Might hit future ps3 owners more than 360 owners being as the blue-ray is why they will being extra for the console.Movies are supposed to cost around 35bucks at first,yeh not so good.With the ear of movie places not charging late fee's i kinda lost my umph for dvds's they are just another thing to blow money on. imagine this, with bluray you'll be able to fit a whole season onto one disk with loads of features, hell maybe even a whole show! bluray has about 3-4x the support from movie studios over hd-dvd, and i believe this is what will lead the the victory for the bd-rom team.
thats a good point, it will make things a lot more convenient. but with diff companies supporting blu-ray and hd-dvd its going to keep people from having a full collection since certain studios support the different formats. Obv blu-ray has more comapines on their side at this point so they def have the edge as far as that but still...point taken? oh and Sony’s claim that 1080p is “true high definition” is ridiculous when you consider the fact that their PlayStation 3 will be able to output a 1080p signal through its two HDMI outputs, yet none of their high-definition televisions, not even the KDS-R60XBR1, can actually accept such a signal.Granted in teh futre they may have some but still that may be months,yrs i mean who knows
iwatched a program, and they made an interesting comment while tyalking about hd dvd and blue ray, they said that they think neither of theose consoles will win, and that it will be the hard drive that will come top. and i fid it to be a valid point b/cthe way i see it is when you move from one format to the nextyou want something big to change like from vhsto dvd, but dvd to blue ray is just not enough of a change, but hard drives are a massive change, anyways thats what i watched on tv, so plz anubis do not come back at me.

yeah i meant hard drive, but it will look like a normall dvd player except without the dvd drive ofcourse. basically they will have a library of films and programs on your tv wehich you can buy (like a dvd) but then you justy download them to your hdd.
this topic has gone nuts... im just gonna answer anubis stream processing question. anubis a SPE doesnt process a different part of the dam game!. its like how it handles each different part of the games code, kinda like the basic fetch, decode and execute a processor does. 3 parts but with the final output being a single execution. think of it this way. the 7 SPE;s (the 8th one is disabled) break the code up into 7 parts. but still has only 1 output as everything does, but b/c its dun in different chunks. it can fly through peices of game code. enabling very fast game performance. however, who ever said that the PS3's cell is more powerful than the 360's processor, when all 3 are being used. well that is vastly wrong. the 360 will vastly overpower if all 3 cores are being used with 2 threads on each (so it has 2 be a 6 threaded game, unlikely thou for sum time!). dont assume the PS3 will still be stronger.. and besides. the most important component for games is the GPU, by far. so once the developers grasp the unfiied shader well (after sum time), it will have great possibilities.

ps3 wont even have a system "open to the public" at e3, they are going to have it restricted off in private areas. that cant be too promising, even MS had its beast of a system out and ready for all to enjoy. 3 negative rumors swirling about ps3. 1.system 50% too big to fit in the shell 2.still bidding on components meaning they are way behind in production. 3.OS will take 25% memory/wahtever tech term is compared to MS 3%.
I feel you on the second and third rumors posted. The size shouldnot be a problem. They could just make the system shell bigger. I am sure it wouldnot be a problem b.c xbox was a bulky console and so is the 360. Neither systems sales were affected by the size of the console. Sony should go ahead and have the ps3 available to play and not just to a select few. There are a lot of people waiting to see what it is going to shape up like. It is possible to edit your own post and remove them if you need to retract anything.
in japan size is a problem. but no matter what sony just has more reliability, we all know that sony makes great games and really good sequals. bluray is gonna be great. there are not alot of games coming out for the x360 what games are people looking forward to? halo3 gow????
vastly? doubtful. i just read on a googlegroup thing that developers said that if sony or microsoft would've just put in a p4 or amd64 than they would be ahead of all the other console competition.
to rabbity. this issnt coming back at you, but are hdd's really new? we've used them for years. you think it would be weird inserting an hdd into a reader like a cartridge? i dont think it would take off. and i frased them wrong, but the stream processing can get more done 'boatload' faster than the 3 cores, even with all threads. look at the tech sheets between the two processors and in the catagories the consoles need and use the cell takes the far lead. by was it almost double the tflops?

I know that everyone has their opinion to which system will be the dominate system in the next-gen of videogaming console. I think the ps3 is going to just dominate the xbox360 in sales if i had to make a honest wager of money. I have seen some people who are completely anti-sony that even say the same. They may hate sony but still know that the xbox doesnot stand a chance in sales of systems. I mean do people actually think that when the ps3 is released that halo 3 being released at the same time will be enough to push sales of the xbox360 to compete with the ps3. It will sure help for MS to drop Halo3 around the ps3 lauch dates but let's get real. MS xbox360 looks by these sales numbers, like it is going to get crushed as did its predecessor. It seems as if MS can get anything right. They could have at least been prepared with enough units to meet the demand at launch. MS marketing team for the xbox360 should be fired b.c it looks like sony is about to break them off a second ROYAL FLUSH. I would be ashamed if i working for MS to even see sales numbers like that.
