personally, i like the outward feel of the system itself, its like a message saying "moving forward, never holding back." it can also stand up well on its own. i like the controlers, they are symmetrical and they look comfortable.

I don't like the look of the controllers, but as I haven't used them yet I can't say I 'hate' them.

I dont't like the way we are still in the dark about everything although they have released demo's in 'real time' *ahem*.

    Too many unnecessary connections announced.

I like the sound of EVERYTHING else!

yeah, i wish they would tell more but if they did m$ would release a new 360 or addon to try and top them. keeping secrets will be good in the end.

i also like the blu ray addition, it seems smart. all that space will be good for the next gen hd games.

I'm not interested in HD gaming. Not for a couple of years when HDTV's drop in price anyway. I'd sooner buy a 360 PS3 and a REV. I know what you're saying though, games will still be made to incorporate HD, so it seems a smart move, but only time will tell (as with everything regarding PS3).

I would like to third the motion about being in the dark. Come on Sony, get your ass in gear. We are waiting for some real info here. I want to preorder mine already and I want a "rough" release date already. I like the game lineup thus far announced and the features make me creamy. I am totally pleased with what Ive heard, problem is everything is really sketchy still and they shouldn't be. With Sony leaving so many details in the dark it helps the demand for XBOX360s go up, if their supply ever catches up this would be a bad thing for Sony. SO SPEAK UP!! WE WANT TO KNOW STUFF!!

A bad thing for Sony... yes. A bad thing for gamers... no.

I think if the 360 sells as well as the PS3 we will see a better games lineup, because the two companies will be in direct competition and these companies are very competitive. I think if they ever reach similar levels of sales, we are guaranteed some pretty special games.

However, their is also the problem that they will have a big licensing war, dishing out loads of money to Copyright and gain privellages with game companies. This could, in turn, make better games if the gamemakers are loaded.

Could be interesting to see things unfold...

Summing up MS could be a big Negative for Sony...

But may be a plus for us gamers.

Its good that the PS3 is released much later than the 360. The longer the wait the more anticipation it gets. Plus that gives SONY time to go through with all the testing and debugin fully unlike MS that released 360 too early and have them crap out on ppl. SONy has the advantage with the blu ray fo sure they dont have to worry about making upgrade add ons or multi disc games likie MS. Im kinda excited about blue tooth and PSP compatibility. I read in a gaming website that in MGS4, you might be able to control Otacon's droids using the PSP. Maybe its BS but if it was true that would be savage.

What I like about the PS3:
7 controllers. Hell, it's the first time you can have more than 2 controllers without buying additional hardware. bravo, sony.
    Gaming Library
Blue-Ray player. I mostly like this not because it will allow games to be only one disk, but the fact that if Blu-Ray does win the format war, then PS3 owners will be better prepared.

    What I don't like about the PS3
Price. Obviously the reason it's so high is because of the hardware components in it, which is why I didn't say "graphics" as part of what I like about the PS3.
Hype. Way too hyped. The more I hear about the PS3, the more I feel like it's a system for losers/nerds/geeks. ooooo 2.18 tflops!... yeah, that's what old 4-eyes in the front of the class talks about. I talk about sports, beer, and banging hot babes. ;)

u say the 7 controllers is a positive? unless ur have like a plasma atleast 40+ inches, u won't c anything thats happening. LOL. i think its good for sony to try something "new." Unfortunately, we haven't see any SOLID in-game videos, yet, so we can't say for sure which system will come on top. Someone said that MS will have multiple dvds for games, i believe ur referring to obliivon or gears of war (forget which one was gonna have 4 discs). Apparently MS said that with new compression disc space will not be a problem. I agree with the other people with sony's decision to go with the built in BR drive. Not only do u get a system, but a next gen "dvd" player.

    @oofRome
yea i agree with ur last statement. Apparently there was a survery taken when ps2 and xbox were out, how the xbox fans were "nerder" while the ps2 fans were more "social" and "relaxed."

actually, i can hardly see how the games would implement a screen split 7 ways. I'd imagine making multiplayer fps games only 4 players max, but for something like madden or gauntlet-type games, it wouldn't be as bad.

Will it not be possible to split between two TV's? That would make it more plausible to have 7 controllers. But why 7, 6 or 8 sound better!

And what if you are playing a hockey game? A football game? A soccer game? The screen doesnt spit up
What if you are playing a game such as mario partY?
What if you are playing a game that lets only three players at one time, then switch?
Would you rather have 4 controllers.
Silly you 7 controllers is a good thing.
The only game i see splitting is a racing game, but then you can just play 4 player.

You have to think man. Sporting games are the most games you play with other people, and dont require a split screen.

What I am saying is - why 7? Like you say sports/party games won't need a split screen... however for these games 6 or 8 controllers would be better (3 on 3/4 on 4). I just don't get the logic in 7??

Not that I am saying their isn't any because they choose these things carefully, it'd be interesting to know.

omg people... up to seven controllers, as in bluetooth controllers. a bluetooth controller is something that uses it. i could play they games with my pda or cell phone, i could have 4 players and hook up a bluetooth headset, keyboard, and mouse (especially hand with linux). they dont have to be just for the ps3 controller, but for anythng more bluetooth. but i'll feel uneasy with all that microwave radiation around me..

Ah. Sorry, I thought it was for controllers, as it said it supported 7 controllers. I thought the accessories would be seperate.

D'you know if it's the same wireless technology used by MS?

m$ uses 2.4ghz rf frequencies i believe. that may interfere with some cordless phones. but yeah all 7 dont have to be for players. with the 2 hdmi's, you could have 4 player on 2 screens, meaning more space to see where you are. and for the rsx to support to different hdmi outputs, thats insane!.

i also like the choice of color. it angers me that the 360 sells 20 dollar face plates, and they cost pennies to make. also, what does a wifi adapter have to be 100 dollars?!?! hell ill turn on internet sharing out of my ibooks ethernet port and run a cord to it to do the same thing. i wonder if it will play burned bluray disks.

I have a question? When was the Ps3 released? You have no Idea what the Ps3 will be when it is released. There is no finished product. You guy are on a thread that goes nowhere. You should start this thread when you actually have a system to play, hold and brag about.
