I usually have my PS3 connected through the included RCA (red, yellow, and white) jacks to a non-HD television. However, I brought my PS3 to a friend's house who has an HD television. I connected the PS3 via an HDMI cable, which worked fine. However, now when I try to connect my PS3 to my original non-HD television with the RCA jacks it will not display anything when the system is on. The PS3 is working properly since I can still use the sixaxis to shut the power off. Can someone please provide me the exact XMB steps I need to take to get into display settings and change it back from HDMI to RCA? I will not be able to see the steps I am taking so if you could please provide movement by movement steps from the left of the XMB through the settings. Much appreciated.
you need to bring it back to a tv where it uses the hdmi... from there you can only set it back to the rca. it thinks you're using the hdmi right now. I know this because it happened to a friend who bought a ps3 used off a guy who used the hdmi cable but was not included when he bought it so we used to rca ones.. the exact same thing happened to him so i figured it was the hdmi cable.. so he bought one and now it displays. good luck
Leave it plugged to your tv and hold the power button for 5 seconds until you hear it bepp. Then it will adjust automatically back to your tvs settings.
It will reset it back to the default settings. You'll have to go in and adjust the settings to what you had before you went to your friends house. Default is 4:3.
Yes but the only setting he can use is the original setting. He has a Standard Definition 480i TV and that's what it resets to.
