I got a copy of a game and when I try to play I get this error "game EBOOT.BIN is not valid cant launch"

This is the second game with this error. The Games are useless.
Probably a lousy rip. Directory structure is correct.
    any Idea guys?

    PS3break
    Fat80gb PS3

    Really irritated.

I was wondering about that. my ps3break is one they are working on getting updates fixed on. still stuck on v1.0

Plus I tried this before the open manager was installed.
can't try now, Im dumping my hdd to my pc at the moment.

I have 3 games I downloaded that has this problem.
really dont want to delete them yet.

im pretty sure it is cuz the dvd copies prolly dont read the same and you would still need a legit bd game in the drive but if we are loading the game off a dvd how can we have a bd in there see where im coming from

im rather sure the dvd+r and BD+r back ups are for v1.1 and bm2+(+=any other adv bm systems)

Certain games just don't work yet...and they usually throw that error if they don't just crash. Confirm that your game is working...all the games that were throwing that error at me turned out to be on the "non working" list.

make sure the ones your getting from the net are reliable sourses some i found are missing key files cuz they dump bad images into the converter and they are useless

I originally thought that backups I had were bogus, until I realized that they needed to be renamed to the correct BLUS/BLES. After that, I never received that bin error.

they are named correctly, its got to be something else.

I had to go to a review site just to find game id's. did a search on net
you would think there would be a list of game id's out there.
and no the compatibility list doesnt have game id's I checked there first.

I read in a newsgroup others have had to have early eboot.bin's patched because they didnt rip them right.

Also I learned that the games are region free but your TV isnt. so I have a non progressive scan tv, a SD not a HD tv, and I cant play a PAL on it.
but if I have a HDTV then I can play a game from anywhere.

Like everyone can afford a HDTV. I can barely afford rent and net.
sucks to be me I know. lol

UPDATE: I found a site that gives the Game Id numbers. its here http://www.sonyindex.com/Pages/PS3_US_Name.htm

    both USA and PAL.
