psp 3.03 downgrade!!!!

Well I just picked up a copy of it yesterday at my Gamestop, you will probably end up going to 3 different places. But I say your chances are pretty good.

 

Man! This is a crazy crowd. All these posts for something so simple. My avicd - don't freak out - just get the downloads, read the readme carefully then do it. One thing - be PATIENT. There are times when the unit goes black and "dead". Just fight the temptation to start pressing buttons, after awhile things will start flashing again.

I started looking into the downgrade just yesterday after hearing about the latest release. Just followed read me text and went from 2.81 => 3.03 => 1.5 then to 3.03OE-c. Just loving it.

Found the unpatched GTA at local blockbuster.

Got a bit confused about need for devhook vs going from 1.5 to 3.03OE but as mentioned here 3.03OE is the all-in-one, one-stop solution, no need for devhook anymore.

Now onto dumping ISO from UMD to PC and memory stick. Any words of wisdom on this?

Lol, now all I'm afraid of is that my aunt might yell at me if I brick my cousins PSP.

 

@windtrade, do u need a program to dump real isos??

 

Hey I am a 30 hour noobe so take what I know with caution.

There are several programs that will backup a UMD game disc and create an ISO (or CSO) to the hard drive over USB or to a memory stick in the PSP.

I just loaded a game ISO onto the PSP in a directory named ISO off the root. Put any UMD game disc into the PSP, then just go to games | memory stick and the new game will appear in the list. That's it - SOOO simple.

I am using 303OE-c.

 

i want to downgrade my psp too from 3.03 to 1.50, i have a GTA:LCS UMD and it has a 2.00 update but it is not from the US..its made in AUSTRIA coz its from Sony COmputer Entertainment EUROPE..has anyone here know if i can use the UMD GTA:LCS made in AUSTRIA(w/v2.00 update)? or do i need to find a GTA:LCS unpatched made in USA?.

after i load the GTA LCS the psp will load HEN. when i want to run Update X.YZ should i take out my UMD or i just leave it on PSP????

 

i downgraded my ta-082 3.03 to 1.5 with the unpatched gta lcs worked perfectly from the first time and i think that updating to 3.03oe-c was harder if you downgrade just make sure you follow the instructions

 

Has anyone tried 3.03 easy downgrader? I'm not sure which one is more reliable. I just thought i ask before i start downgrading to make my choice.

What is the real chance of bricking, does the bricking only occur when you dont following the instruction corrently or by doing something stupid eg:turning off psp while it is downgrading...., or can it brick for no apparant reason even if you did everything right, i really wanna downgrade my 3.03 psp to 1.5 and then to 3.03OE-c, but i just need as much help as possible so that it wont brick, someone reply asap

 

all u can do is follow the readme and hope all goes well. there is always a risk of bricking when messing with the flash, although it is very small.

 

so u reckon that the chance of me bricking is low enough for me to give it a shot... i was just goin to follow the tutorial that is earlier in the thread

yes yes. but its doubtful it will happen, HIGHLY doubtful. Do you have the unpatched version of GTA:LCS for the downgrader to work properly.

 

yeh, i think so, i brought it preowned from ebgames, it has the version 2.0 update on it

 

how to i make a backup of my netowrk confingurations using the netconficbackup tool included, in the readme it states

IMPORTANT NOTE: Backing up from 2.00+ and restoring on 1.50 may not work if WPA is used on the 2.00+ PSP

what does this meen, and do ia have to make a backup, or is it automatic in the downgradfing process

 

u dont need to worry bout backing it up unless u dont remember any of the settings.

 

OK, thats cool, i am at the screen now where i have to press x to continue, i am seriously shitting myself, this is my 1st downgrade, are you positive i am doing the right thing and continueing....what if it bricks!!!! i wont be able to handle it..
