There is going to be a 3000 PSP, the signs have been there since 3.80. They're saying the PSP is a 10-year console, so who knows how many revisions it'll go through between now and then? I'll bet there'll be a 5000 model before finally unveiling.... the PSP 10 000!
That was fast... But you know Sony, they won't give up until they make one that doesn't get hacked. Watch the 3000 get hacked the first day just like the slim, bet that'll piss them off.
I would hate it a lot if they release by end of the year or something, I just bought mine recently like around Feb!!
the word unhack-able is never joined with the word console 0_<. it seems that sony have take the image down, im guessing it could be some kind of april fools joke im sure these nothing in the works that may be released soon. mabe a psp2 in 2 years but we have to wait to see what nintendo and what microsoft are doing; its highly likely that xbox will bring out a portable device next time following there trend.
When it comes to technology, I don't think you can wait around for the next big thing/product update/upgrade etc, because there is always something on the horizon. If you buy a computer one month, there is something more powerful for less money available the following month. Whilst the psp world doesn't move so fast I think the same still applies to some extent. There is some benefit in having the final version of the old model rather than the initial version of a brand new model - in the case of psp 1000/2000 versus psp 3000 this would be the vast range of official and homebrew softwares and aftermarket accessories available. So I would say if you want a slim go ahead and buy a slim - the next generation psp is probably still some way off (surely something would have leaked out by now?). R
