PSP dont read UMD disk, please help

    My psp has V2,00 firmware. No movie or disk is not running on psp. After inserting a UMD disk always there is a massgae " The Disc could not be read". what could be problem? is it bad UMD reader or just Firmware cause not to run Disc. pleae help badly needed. thanks in advanced!!

    Well I actually have an idea. When did you buy your PSP. If it is reletivly new I suggest using the warranty that came with it. Now if it is old then I would not upgrade to 2.50 this is a bad idea that is not worth making a PSP homebrew incapable. I would most likely take a can of compressed air or if you have a air compressor use it to shoot air into the UMD slot to clear any kind of dirt or dust that may have settled onto the lens. If that does not work this may be some thing that is internal almost like a ribbon that is not attached correctly or the lens is scratched or I don't know. Try the air then try if not then I would seek profesional help.
