Just to clarify
So PAL and NTSC would not give any problems even with the region free UMD games?Thats good news for me then.I can buy PSP in Malaysia and buy games here then when I come back from my holiday.

And one more thing I forgot to ask since memory stick capacity is limited and ISO games are generally large files...maybe 2 games per 1 gig MS, is it possible to save the ISO files in a computer and then just change the files when u want to play a particular game?This mean u have to delete whatever file in the memory stick and replace with a new one.What if u have a saved game on the previous game, would that get deleted too?Just wondering if u need more than one memory stick for every 2-3 games u have...that would be costly and not worth it...

CAn anyone tell me wher i can download ISO games for my PSP??

 

I have v1.50, fastloader and 1GB memory stick. I try to backup games over 1GB. I split it into 2 files of 700MB. When the first 700MB file is done, I pause the fastloader and transfer it to PC. Then I delete it in the memory stick, then continue to rip the second file. After it is done, the second file is around 500MB. Then I transfer it PC. Now I try to combine those 2 files together by using Winrar. But Winrar CAN NOT combine them. The first part is ok to extract. The second part has errors with Winrar. Winrar can’t open it.
I also try to load the first file, but game won’t load. And I know that I have to combine those 2 files together. But I don’t know how. Can anyone show me how to combine them?
And how do you use VcdromX and UMDGEN to combine ISOs?

 

To everyone wondering where they can download psp iso's....i'll let you in on a secret....it's called usenet..get yourself a premium provider, such as Newshosting or Giganews, a membership to a usenet indexing service, such as Newzbin and you're all set.

i have NO idea how to join the split files dumped from fastloader. you seem to be THE man to ask so i'm hoping you could tell me how to this please. i've searched for ages and the closest i've gotten is this:

"Use a dos command window and the COPY command.

copy /b file1+file2 outputfile

Try copy /? for more info. You MUST use the "binary" /b switch or it'll stuff it up"

i have absolutely NO idea what this really means or how to do it in the command prompt thingy. all your other guides and how to's have successfully guided me thru back ups and using vcdromx so i'm praying you can help me here mate. thanks in advance.

i've got the firmware 1.52 and fastloader v0.7
now everytime i want to start fastloader i get an error: The Game could not get started(80020148)

i hope someone can help me

Anyway, what is a file joiner? Why don't UMDGEN and vcdromx work?

new PSP owner here. I pretty much have eveything working on the PSP unit in terms of fastloader, however i have some questions that hopefully some one can help me with.
1. i treid to read the guid in this thread as to convert to iso, the prodlem is i dont see... ???(B) ( or anything that resembles that ), is it posible i have the wrong programe, can some one help me convert the files in a way other then what has posted previously, i have spnt almot 2 days sold now trying to get this to work....HELP?

2. i am a little confused as to excatly what "dump" means. Does this mean i can borrow a friends PSP game, dump it to my card, transfer it back to my computer, then transfer it back to the PSP at later time to be played without the actual disc, through fastloader?

if so, the is one powerful unit!!!

if someone could help it would be greatly appericated, as i a going mad tring to play some games that dont cost me 60 bucks.

 

Dump means to rip the actual UMD into an ISO. Fastloader will do it. Fastloader also plays the ISO that you rip.

However fastloader will ask you to insert ANY actual UMD, and you have to do it to let it loads the ISO.

In other word, you have to have at least 1 actual UMD for fastloader to load ISO.

No, they won't rip you off...I've been using it for a year now....they're worth every penny...can't tell you how many psp games, xbox games, music, pc apps I've downloaded w/ their help

Plus, it's only $.50 a week....by far the best usenet indexing service out there.

i am when i download a game it comes in a rar form then i use winrar (or what ever) to open it the i see "PSP_GAME", and "UMD_DATA.BIN", no this is where i get lost i need to know how to convert the files, however the instructions that i read on this thread said something about "look for ???(B)" or something like that, however my version, "VCDROM EXTENSION 3.80", does not have these commands. can you help?
