@elsuave...try this file joiner...might work for ya http://www.snapfiles.com/get/sfj.html

@abe84...you can play movies with 1.50...have tons of them(that i converted from dvd to psp)..if anyone needs a tutorial i'll post one...

@adamcrite...when you see the psp_game folder and the umd_data.bin file you have extracted too far(however if you are looking at it with winrar, don't worry, just don't extract it anymore and use that file(it's an ISO file) in the ISO folder on your psp)...

    @fahadkhan...

Once you have downloaded and extracted to your Desktop.....double click on the hookboot folder and you will see two folders...copy the "Hookboot" and "Hookboot%" folders and paste them into YOUR PSP\GAME directory(double click on YOUR PSP folder and then double click on YOUR Game folder)...now back out to the Root Directory(the one with the PSP folder on it) and if you don't already have an ISO folder in this directory, make a new folder and name it "ISO"...now take the iso image file you have from your backup of YOUR game and place the ISO image file(the dvd icon looking file) to the "ISO" folder that you placed on your PSP directory...now that you're done with that back out of USB mode and go to your memory card stick icon(the one under the umd icon) and look for the hookboot(i think it's a umd looking icon) icon...press x...and it should bring up a black background up...select the iso...now press O..

Hey I'm thinking about investing in a psp, and a gig memory stick, but I want to make sure that I'll be able to work with homebrews and iso's. Is there any rhyme or reason to what firmware you receive when you get a psp, ie:

buying a new psp now will give me a firmware later than 1.5
or if you buy from the US or Canada or UK it will be different ?? Have I just waited to long, and I'll have to wait longer for a new loader software to be developed for 2.0?

Or do all psp's start out as 1.5, and you just have to avoid the internet and updating the firmware? I also got it in my head that some games will automatically upgrade your firmware like GTA:LCS, am I crazy??

Any help would be great, I'll probably still end up gettin one, but I may hold off on the memory.

    Thanks for the help.

But when i tried it with my mp4 file of sin city my psp shows an icon which states: 'incompatible data'. Any suggestions?...

    hi people,
just like the person above, i need a little bit of help too.
hopefully it wont be too troublesome.

    i have a PSP with firmware v1.5
and ive downloaded a nba06.iso file

im just not sure how to correctly put the file onto the PSP and play the game without inserting an UMD onto the PSP, as i've bought a DVD with PSP games in them and i can just extract those exe.files onto the PSP and play them straight away from my memory stick.

i've loaded another game (for example virtua tennis) onto my PSP.
i turn on my PSP, go to game options, into memory stick, and i see an option to open DEVHOOK_V020 (Device Hook Ver.0.20).

i open the DEVHOOK_V020, and i have the option to load both virtua tennis.iso (which i extracted from my DVD) or nba06.iso (which i simply copied and paste onto the ISO folder at the root directory of my memory stick)

i could open the nba06.iso, it loads for a few seconds and the PSP crashes and switches itself off.

im just wondering if i can actually add an iso game file like i have done, and wanted to know if theres anyway to stop the nba06.iso from crashing itself.

note- i can play the virtua tennis.iso perfectly fine, but thats maybe because i extracted it from the dvd that i have bought, instead of the nba06.iso file which i have downloaded from the net.

thank you in advance! and would really appreciate help!!

UMD_DATA.BIN is the file which the PSP boots to load the game (on UMDs).

Try to get a pre-ripped ISO.

ok, to get Star Wars Battlefront 2 working with umdemulator....start up umd emulator, and change the umd emulation setting to Copy Load instead of System Menu...and it should work...

@falling3...don't worry about extracting that coded arms file...it's already in iso format, just place in the ISO folder on your psp and load it up with fastloader 7

@taray...ok now open up your fifa ripkit...should have those folders you listed....now EXTRACT the fifa ISO file down to the PSP_GAME folder and UMD_Data.bin file...and place those folders\files(PSP_GAME folder and UMD_Data.bin)into the ripkit folder(that has the blank.pdf , dummy.bat , dummy.pad , and small.aud)...now once you have place the psp_game folder and umd_data.bin files\folders in that folder...double click on the Dummy.BAT file...this will open a DOS window for a second or two then close it...check your psp_game folder and the size should be considerably smaller....now download UMDGEN and place the psp_game folder and umd_data.bin file that you ran the ripkit on, onto the right side of the umdgen window and go to the file tab and click on save as... and then name it fifa and press enter...this should start to create your iso for you and then once done...place that iso in the ISO folder that is on your psp...

@zard01...right click on the nba06.iso file and select open with(use winrar as the program to open with) tell me what files you get...

    @evnflow

sorry for the private message. pressed the wrong button.

after opening the nba06.iso file with WinRar, i get a folder named PSP_GAME (and within that folder theres 2 more folders named SYSDIR and USRDIR, and another 3 files named ICON0.PNG, PARAM.SFO and PIC1.PNG) and a file named UMD_DATA.bin

here is a SWEET iso split\joiner guide made by a great guy(MAMEDUDE99) thanks man...I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS GUIDE:

    "Merging split files Fastloader .7
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    1. Set file split size to whatever you want 10 mb, 100 mb, 400 mb etc...
As you copy each split and it pauses copy that to your computer and delete it off stick and then resume.

    2. Once you get all of the split files have them in one folder ie.

    c:\psp dump

In windows go to the directory you put the split files into and right click and rename

add .iso to the end it should look like this

    My latest dump (Part 1).iso

Rename all your split files to that, if you have a cd burner software on your computer you may notice the icon of your dump file change.

    3. open command prompt, start program files, accessories, command prompt.

    start at

    c:\>

    cd psp dump

    dir

((You should now see a list of files in the directory of PSP dump, it should contain

    My latest dump (part 1).iso
    My latest dump (part 2).iso

and anymore different parts you may have.

next type the following include the "" type it shown just as below, the My latest dump (part 1).iso would be your split file name alternatively you could rename each file to say dump 1.iso, dump 2.iso, dump 3.iso to make it easier when your in the command prompt.

The gamename.iso is what you want the final product to be ie. Mercury.iso

copy /b "My Latest Dump (Part 1).iso"+"My Latest Dump (Part 2).iso" GameName.ISO

Continue the +"My latest dump (part x).iso" to however many splits you have.

if you had a 3rd it would look like this

copy /b "My Latest Dump (Part 1).iso"+"My Latest Dump (Part 2).iso"+"My Latest Dump (Part 3).iso" GameName.ISO

    and so on...."

zard01...it seems that it is a true iso file...ok, try using Fastloader V0.8(umdemulator)...should definitely work...and no probs on the private message thing...it's cool..if you need help installing fastloader just ask...good luck, holla ;)
