    Hi!
I have a problem with my PSP. I have 5.02 GEN-A firmware. I was curious and I took the faceplate off. Then I took the screen off. But when I put the screen back and started the PSP, nothing happens. Green light only and black screen. It isn't bricked, because Pandora and a magic memorystick didn't help. I've checked the screen connection many times and it's OK, but it just won't start up. Even the Sony Computer Entertainments intro sound isn't playing. What can I do??

    Thanks,
    EET

Man that sucks, I remember a while back I thought it would be fun to take my old psp apart and when I put it back together only half the screen worked. What the problem was for me was that the large screen connector that clips onto the board was not in all the way, When I went to put it back in the little clip you lift up broke off, Well...ol' psp didn't work anymore and I sold it for parts on ebay for 71 dollars. Perhaps you fried the board?

Hope not. I think I am going to take the whole PSP apart and build it again with instructions from the internet. Thank you Poggie for good answer! :)

Yeah, but if they see cfw, they won't be happy!

The CFW is one thing, but the other thing which won't make Sony happy, is that I removed the guarantee seal to apart the PSP. So I have no guarantee anymore.

They would still fix it...for the price of your firstborn.

You mean they could fix it for free? But now my PSP starts sometimes, about 1 try of 51 tries. And I think if I can start it once again, I would install OFW and take it to the shop where I bought it.

Well, if under warranty they would fix it for free, but now that you voided that, they would fix it for the small price of your soul:)($180 in canada will get them to have a look at it, that's not even repairs!) You could take it back to where you bought it and make up some excuse and exchange it...If your going to take it back to exchange it, don't worry about the cfw...they won't track you down...
