i work at gamestop and i had some guy who came in and bought a gig stick to put psp games on his memory stick. now i know your able to download games but last i heard just putting a psp game on a memory stick isn't that simple.

one last question are the psp games in .iso format. and for that matter is it all games cause i noticed xbox games come in .iso. i know these are newbish questions but i have been slowly getting more and more into hacking.

I don't think that he got games on his psp, there is no way that he could play them. I think they are in iso format?

basically that was his plan to put the games in the memory stick because you can download it from the internet. but he probably just thinks he can play it off the memory stick. i get a lot of dumb people at gamestop

Does gamestop follow that m rated crap? Because most Eb games don't. Got metal gear acid there and they did not card me.

yeah we definitely card and so do the eb's around here. it also depends what state you live at. some states are more strict than others. i live here in florida and their kinda strict about it. we get a fine if we sell a minor an m rated game. in other states like i think washington you can get fined and you can also go to jail.

First of all, there is no way you can run games off the memory stick. It has been confirmed by several websites that psp hackers are able to extract the whole PSP game onto the computer and burn an ISO to CD/DVD. To answer your question, even though the PSP games are in ISO format, they are non-playable on a memory stick because the PSP checks for a boot file normally from a UMD disc the memory stick doesn't have.

It's funny that the people working at gamestop and other stores really don't know much about games or they would know about different firmware and different versions of the product they are portraying to know about.

The japanese PSP which is what I have was shipped with the 1.0 firmware or bios if you will, and it lacked security to keep people from producing home brew games and copying full version games to be played with unsigned code, also that is why the guy that came to your store purchased the 1 Gig stick. So just goes to show Don't trust the oppinnion of the first reply you come across. By the way you can use Wipeout as a web browser.

First of all, I don't find it funny at all. I find this comment insulting to all of Gamestop's employees. Not everyone who works at Gamestop has to know everything about the products they're selling. If you expect this highly of anyone, then you better use that brain of yours and rethink again.

Second of all, I don't kno where Jyro gets his info from cuz currently there is no way full version games can be played off from a 1 GIG stick. I would like to see that happen.

Yes there are just as many gamestop employees that know what they are talking about as there are morons out there. You cant expect someone to know something just because they have a job somewhere.

Truth is though DYNEZXICE you can play your PSP games off of a memory stick and Ive been doind it for about two weeks now since I first heard of it. Yes you have to have the 1.0 firmware. Also that only some games can be played this way and there arent to many.

Hey man, no offense but all the GameStop employees I have seen are complete idoits. Some guy sold me an Xbox Link cord (which is nothing but a cross over cable for connecting to Xbox's together) to hook up 2 ps2's via LAN.. This was 3 years ago before i knew anything.. and he said "This Xbox cable should work" and i was like 12 years old, and said "umm ok"

CKY, how exactly are you able to run games successfully off a memory stick? cuz i've been reading forums left and right and people are saying they got as far as the title screen before an error message pops up. They were trying out WIPEOUT PURE btw. I want to kno how you made the games work.

heh, i find people at any store to know nothing... for instance, my ps2 port on my computer wasnt working for my mouse, so looking for a quick fix, i asked a guy at wal mart i believe in electronics for a ps2 to usb cable... and after a while of him telling me complete garbage he asked me, " why would you want to hook your ps2 up to your computer? " and he was fucken dead serious.

Anyways Dendrix you might find this interesting.

there is as much dumb people working at gamestop as there are intelligent people. jyro you seemed to assume that i know nothing. i know all about the 1.0 firmware but this guy didn't have a japanese psp. also to pretend to think that you are smart by saying wipeout can also be used as a web browser. eveyone and their moms already knew that. that has been discovered like a week after the system came out. especially when in korea they have their web browser up and running. also wipeout is the hub for just about every hack you can think of for the psp thats why the game sells so well at my store.

you all say that psp wont play games backup's and also do not work the games in the memory stick too. One question if you are all experts on the psp matter why some people and also p2p sites have in the categories links to psp games as they have to ps2. should have some reason

that i show all this started. people started putting psp games online for the hell of it to show that they can. though there is a way to play these games on memory stick its too much of a hassle if you not familiar with this stuff and most games don't work properly from what i've been hearing.
