hi just downloaded the 5.03 gen and chickhen r2 files for my psp 3004 my problem is when i try to launch "LAUNCH-ME.EXE" a prompt appears that the application failed to initialize properly. any ideas how to fix this? thanks!
I have a problem as well; mine says I need another version of .NET framework. Error: To run this application, you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET framework: v2.0.50727 Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET framework. I am running Windows XP Professional, btw, using the highest SP I assume.
You guys need to download to latest .net framework from microsoft. Just google it and you will find what you need.
Okay, this might take a couple tries. I got the .NET framework, so the program works, but now the files aren't installing into the right directories, just to the desktop.
Okay, I got the GEN.PBP in XSP/GAME/GEN, and it comes up as corrupted data. I'm running HEN right now, so I"m wondering if I need to name the folder I put the .PBP into correctly.
i have a PSP-3k silver rachet and clank edition this loads ISO/CSO’s PERFECTLY k, now to help others who find it hard loading chickhen r2 and gen-a A. how to load chickhen r2 dowload the chickhen r2 above and extract it with winrar assuming that you have put h.bin on ms0 and chickhenr2 folder on pictures folder located on root of MS 1. shut down your psp (not sleep mode, turn it OFF as in hold the power button up until the LCD turns black) 2. turn on your psp 3. go to settings > system settings > system information (you just have to view the system information) it’ll be like this (OFW) System Software : 5.03 Nickname : XXXXX Mac Address : XXXXXX now this is the MOST IMPORTANT STEP 4.) GO TO PICTURES and OPEN CHICKHEN FOLDER and “WAIT” your screen “crashes” and psp reboots now go to your system information and you’ll see this system software : 5.03 ChickHEN R2 Nickname : XXXXXX Mac Address : XXXXX you have now loaded CHICKHEN R2 DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PSP AS THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE HOW TO LOAD GEN-A ____________________________________________________ now B. how to load GEN-A download the 5.03 GEN-A above and extract it with winrar 1. connect your psp to your pc (don’t do anything, just connect) 1.a you will see the drive where your memory stick / PSP is located for example “G:\” 2. open LAUNCH-ME.EXE from the GEN-A folder 3. choose your psp model ( 2000 or 3000) 4. choose FULL on MODE 5.choose YES on PSP install 6. on PSP Unit Drive, you need to put ONLY THE LETTER. disregard COLON and BACKSLASH for example PSP UNIT DRIVE: |¯¯¯¯¯| | G | ¯¯¯¯¯¯ 7. CLICK START 8. click done 9. disconnect your psp from your pc 10. go to game on XMB (your psp) and look for INSTALLER-LOADER (usually on the top of the choices) 11. open it 12. press L “OR” R to install CFW 13. when it says FINISH WITH SUCCESS or DONE WITH SUCCESS (sorry i forgot) press O (circle) 14. your PSP returns to XMB with GEN-A loaded FAQ : where to put your ISO’s and CSO’s?? -on MS root ms0:/ and create a new folder named ISO why does my PSP say UNOFFICIAL FIRMWARE DETECTED PLS POWEROFF PSP? -you must have used chickhen R1 while flashing USE CHICKHEN R2 -you must have installed a custom gameboot ——–follow-up question —————what is a gameboot? ANSWER : it’s the intro when you load a game SOLUTION : open your gameboot flasher and change it back to SONY’s gameboot (the original gameboot) why does my LCD turn black after pressing O when i reboot after installing CFW? - you probably missed or didn’t follow the steps above does this work on my psp3k? -yes it does. PROVIDING that you have 5.03 OFFICIAL FIRMWARE why do i need 5.03 OFW? -because CHICKHEN R2 ONLY LOADS ON 5.03 OFW. how about 5.50? -no exploits has been released yet (that enables chickhen) please follow the steps carefully thanks
I would add that you have to repeat step 4.) several times before it finally works. you will notice that it works when it doesn't just turn off but shows you strange colors, then reboots automatically.
