Do not attempt to download the 4.0 waninkoko installer, if you are at 3.2 and want to upgrade to 4.0 then you will need the following wads: ios60 cios v7 Install both of the wads and then run the update through the system menu.
Im on an NTSC wii with the d2c. Im currently on 3.2U and want to play punch out. Do I need to install this wad stuff or can I just update my wii through the settings? Its an NTSC copy, and everything I have is NTSC, never PAL thanks
finally got PUNCH OUT to work...=) before I upgraded to 4.0FW, i loaded the following things in order: -homebrew (via dvd iso) -ciosrev10 -iso60patched (via wad manager) -upadaed to 4.0FW i upgraded from a 3.1U FW on my NTSC Wii (with Wiikey v1)...=)
I've read a lot of threads, many with no clear answers, and this seems to be the correct way to do it. I did read that ciosrev9 was more stable though. Did you update the Wii through Wifi? Are all of you channels still there, wad manager still working?? IOS36-64-v1042? Did you find out what this was for?
IOS36-64-v1042.wad is used in conjunction with the cIOS Installer. You have 2 options to run the installer. WAD MODE or WiFi mode. If you choose WAD MODE then you need to have IOS36-64-v1042.wad at the root of your SD Card.
Well I updated, used ciosrev9. Good newsisunchout and EA Sports work. Bad news is: So far Mario Kart doesn't work anymore, Homebrew channel no longer loads, and when I click on SD Card on the bottom left or even try to go to Wii Data Management Screen it locks UP ????
OK after about an hour of F'n with it Hombrew Channel loads about 50% of the time, I can get to the Wii data management screens but Mario Kart still won't Load.
hmmmm..actually, i have not yet tried mario kart again.... lemme try it a bit later and get back to you....

Same problem Wii doesn't recognize it. Also that was my Homebrew problem, Homebrew Channel will NOT load with Mario Kart in the Wii. I probably need to start a new Thread> Did anyone else try Mario Kart?
You should of installed preloader when you modded your wii. It has options/hacks that run to disable game updates, disc checks, etc.
If your Mario Kart is Trucha signed and your IOS's are not patched then this could cause your issue. IOS Downgrader will downgrade and patch all IOS to allow Trucha signed backups to run. Get IOS Downgrader from HERE. Place it in its own folder in the apps folder of the SD card (you will need to rename the IOS Downgrader dol file to boot.dol). Then run it through the Homwebrew Channel. You will need WiFi for this step.
I have a d2ckey installed and Punchout starts up than gives me a black screen that says it can't read disc. What do I need to upgrade to run new games? I am not using a softmod. I did an update through the Wii. What next? I know nothing about softmods. Thanks in advance for helping a 48 year old bastard.
Is your system modded with a chip? If so, please let me know the version of the wii system menu which can be located in the system options.
Burned again with new iso. Works OK now. But I don't know if it was a bad iso or bad burn, but thanks for the help! Rich
