If you were going to purchase a new playstation, would you buy the old fat one, or would you but the new slim one?

Is there a way to put a HDD to the new ps2, like externally?

I think they are working on getting an external one to work but i dont think they have done it yet.

I would get a slimmer one but for modding i would say get the older version fat one.

There are news saying that ppl are making the usb-loader, likes hdadvance for use with external usb-hdd! But I´ve got some trouble, because ill still need a modchip for the slim one or a dvd region-x for the pstwo slim, my dvd area is 4 and pstwo comes with locked area 1.
DMS 3 with some bios updates runs in these v12 units??

What is HDD? and....I have been seaching a lot of forums and i've seen that there has been a lot problems with the lasers on the slime pstwo. I think im going to get the original ps2 premod with maxtrix infinity chip. I'm going to get it from xmodd. I figure the original ps2 is reliable, xmodd.com is reliable, and the maxtrix infinity is a great chip and reliable. The slim model would be convinient. Any thoughts? Is this the best way to go? Thanks for the help!
