purchasing a new laptop

    i was looking into getting new laptop. i live in australia and was wanting something fast with a sufficient amount of RAM and a few otehr features. most of them i have looked at come with vista , which i have heard is unreliable?which types should i look into, the only one ive found so far is he dell 1420(which i dont even know if this is a decend brand) - thanks for your help

    i live in england, and Dell is regarded as a very good value for money brand.
