RipIt4Me is a macro which uses DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, plus incorporates FixVTS code for compliance processing. Once installed the system is one of the most powerful decryption systems available. The files produced are encryption and protection free plus DVD compliant. They can be used with any program that uses DVD compliant files. Since Shrink is used for compliance testing the files are already loaded, making the use of Shrink a seamless progression. The revised version of Shrink supports both ImgBurn, CopyToDVD, and Nero for burning automatically. Using this system as described in bbmayo's guide is easy. Open the files in RipIt4Me and there's no need to manually open another program, if Shrink is used for transcoding and a supported burner is used. It may take a bit longer, but it's just as easy to use as CloneDVD or Recode with a driver decrypter and the options are just as good, Full DVD, Movie + Menu, and Movie Only. That's quite a package for freeware.

Seen you guys helped out Shradel can you help me out now, Ok I want to rip Pursuit of happyness to my computer then convert to a mp4 for my ipod, My usual way of doing this was to start up DVD Decrypter, Then go to mode IFO I, I'd get the main movie and the main audio file then, I would rip to my computer then convert threw either Super or Videora, But Now days it either says theres somthing wrong or some error while in DVD Decrypter. Now I was woundring how do you guys run AnyDVD in background while ripping the VOB file to HD??? Any suggestions. Thankx much.

Use the RipIt4Me. When the files open in Shrink, close Shrink and use the files on the HD as you would had you done it with DVD Decrypter alone. That will allow you to retain the method you're familiar with . Use the directions in bbmayo's guide for a quick and easy setup.

When ripping with AnyDVD Slysoft recommends using CloneDVD 2. The AnyDVD ripper isn't much, especially in use with the heavier copy protections we've been seeing recently, i.e. Saw 3, region 1, Casino Royale, The Holiday ... As for ripping with DVD Decrypter, a person is better off with RipIt4Me. RI4M gets the compliance processing done without the need to go to FixVTS or VobBlanker. RipIt4Me incorporates FixVTS for getting the job done.

Alrighty, So I didn't do what any of you told me to do,Some how I got it onto my pod, But I did do it threw DVD Dec. by doing my usual method then I went to super to convert to a mp4. But the funny part about this was, was that AnyDVD was prolly a key program in this. Because what I did this time to do it threw DVD Dec. Was I first went to AnyDVD and riped it DVD to HD, Then I just went back to DVD Dec. And I tried it and no errors occured, Nothing just like it was GOLDEN like before. I think that when I riped it with AnyDVD it took all the protection off of it and everything and then after I went back to DVD Dec. all the fake unusable titles and stuff they throw in there to mess people up was gone. It was cured. So It worked out how I usually do it so thankx for mentioning AnyDVD, It wasn't that hard to work either. Thankx. ant later on

Glad to hear you got it done. Sounds like you like doing things the long way. As long as you're happy with it is all that counts. I wouldn't direct anyone else to take that route though.

The first time they change the encryptions on the movies then rip it4me will be just R.I.P. What a shame.

When I made a backup of this movie, I checked the completed file
before I burned. It appeared to have all the chapters working. When
I burned it said it was successful. I put the disc in and clicked
through the chapters just to make sure they were all there. I also
watched the last chapter to make sure it was all there. Tonight
I decided to watch this movie. There are 28 chapters. It played
absolutely perfectly till the middle of chapter 25. Then it froze
on my DVD player. So I took it out and put it in my computer. It
will now access to the middle of 25 and go no further. Unfortunately
I deleted the files on my computer and also the history. So tomorrow
I start over and try again. This is the first time this has ever
happened. Always before when I checked this way the discs played
perfectly all the way through. I guess you can't be sure till you
    watch the whole two hours.

It depends on the extent of the change. When Saw 3, region 1, came out with the new heavier encryption, the only thing needed was a minor update of the FixVTS. It will be interesting to see what it takes to make RI4M disappear. I hope someone picks up RI4M where it can't be bothered. I won't mind too much if it's retail as long as the price isn't too high.

    Just two programs...

AnyDVD 6.1.3.3. (running in the background)
Nero Recode 2, (Recode Main Movie to DVD)

    Just select the VIDEO_TS folder.

No hoops to go through using several programs!

And what does that have to do with DVD Shrink? Wrong forum. :)

As for the number of programs, that's 2 you have. The only thing extra is a supported burner with Shrink and the controls are automatic through Shrink. So, that's 2 to 3. Doesn't matter much to Shrink users. In the past some releases have required ripping, even with AnyDVD, and the output then processed for DVD compliance before they could be transcoded or encoded. That's adding even more software with AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 or Recode, another hoop.

So, using Shrink a person can get a good backup just as well as the retail software. I'll admit driver decrypters are a little faster when they work, with the cost about $40. I own both AnyDVD and Region Free, but have been using freeware the last couple of months for decryption.

Shrink is as good or better than a bunch of retail programs. That's why it's lasted so long. If it didn't work, people wouldn't want it even though it is free.

Well If I had gone as far as to shut down a prog such as ripit, I would make sure the next generation of DRMs fully incapacitated the program.

First, this forum is on the movie Pursuit of Happyness.

Second, what I stated is how I burned the movie Pursuit of Happyness.

Third, the author of DVD Shrink, (which hasn't been updated in years,) is the author of Nero Recode2.

Forth, since this forum is for all, including newbies I'm sure that many can appreciate a simplier solution.
