    Alright...

First, what type of files are they? Are they .rar files, .iso image, .bin/.cue files? Let us know something more than what you have posted, and we will see what we can do.

    :)

Ah HA! .avi is a generic divx file. If your DVD player is not divx certified, it will not play .avi, .divx, .xvid, or .mp4 files.

You will need to convert these files to DVD compliant structure. I recomend using either NERO Vision 4, or VSO's ConvertXtoDVD. Personally, I use the later. A fellow here at aD turned me on to VSO's software, and I haven't looked back since. The encoding engine is awesome, and has a free trial period. It will however, leave a watermark until it is paid for.

    You can get it here....

This software will even make a simple menu for your DVD.

Forgot to mention that there is a great guide here at aD for this software! You can link to it from the software download page I put in my previous post!

    (Afterdawn has everything... LOL!)

Look around, you will love it here. I know I do.

I can't really tell you where to get the movies... Against the forum rules...

Nero 6 is OK, but I like nero 7 myself.

    C-ya.

Tried Convertxtodvd but found it makes blocky video sometimes. And the one-pass conversion lacks quality.

What other software (not winavi) would people recommend as an easy way to turn xvid/divx into dvds?

It seems difficult to find simple solutions that don't result in noticeably poor quality video.

I am going to quote from from one of the guides here at aD....

ConvertXtoDVD does a good job. So does Nero for that matter.

But no matter what program you use, the converted Video will never look as good as the original DVD it was ripped from, or even the Divx/Xvid/mp4 file. It just isn't going to happen.

Thank you. Yes I know what you mean, but I find that many one-click solutions create noticeable skipping or freezing problems. I'm aware of using good quality discs and not running anything else on the pc while the conversion runs through.

What would you recomend that's free for DivX to DVD apart from ConvertX (which is not free).

It's annoying, because I paid for OneClickDVDCopy from VSO and I think its not very good and I don't use it. I wish I could use the same serial I've bought and don't use for ConvertX if it really is as good as people here say.

But anyway, what free app is best? Thanks again.
