Help!!! I have a brand new 80 gig Video Ipod and can not get DVDs decoded, encoded, decrypted ,transcoded or converted to go on my Ipod. I got close with CuCusoft but no!
I have gone over the Ipod discussion forum with a fine tooth comb and tried many of the wonderful suggestions that a lot of you have given. But no matter what I try and no matter what Decrypting program I use (both purchased and free, DVD Decrypter, Videora, Avex DVD to Ipod, PQDVD, CuCusoft and I'm sure there have been others) plus I have updated Codecs, updated CYGWIN files and tried several different settings in all the above programs and all I still get is ______________ has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have pretty decent computer skills but this has got me baffled. I have seen discussions very similar to mine and really tried to do everthing that was suggested but with no luck what so ever. Does anyone have any other ideas. Please help. And thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. Steve

I think there is something wrong with your windows system or audio/video card drives.

There are two programs that I know of that work well for transfering DVD's to ipod Format. One is Videora, and it works well on PC's, and then there is HandBrake, if you have a Mac. I have a Mac (for my ipod), and I use HandBrake, and have had no problems with it yet.

Thank you 2 for responding. Dkmopq I was worried that there could have been something wrong with Windows or my video card too and I did updated drivers. However,I finally got something to work flawlessly: Madz Ipod Video Converter. It worked perfectly. I think Dfab Decrypter might have worked OK but I couldn't find a tool to stop the DVD from being split up. So I would have had to add 4 seperate files to my Ipod to make the one movie. Madz Ipod Video Converter did everything without changing one setting. So, I guess there could still be something wrong with my system. What would have been the first thing you would have looked for other than driver updates. Would doing a reinstall (repair) of Windows be good? Anyway, thanks again. Steve

I just use a converter that can transfer to ipod directly, don't need other software. It's more easy.
