ok ive been able to put my music on it finally but im still havin problems for somereason the music doesn't go into my sansa 4.gb under music it goes in under recordings idk whats the problem and another thing like when windows media finally dettects it it doesnt have a music file it only has a TMP,PHOTO,VIDEO,and RECORD idk whats the problem but its really anoying because instead of just clicking on an artist and going to their album i have too look for all the songs individually is any 1 famillier with this?

    hey bud
I just got a sansa e270 about 2 weeks ago, so I'm experimenting with this thing as well
    Anyway
theres a MUSIC folder , or there should be anyway
do you have windows set to show "hidden folders" ? because the Music folder is hidden
    in short
    RT Clik on My Comp
    clik Explore
Up at the Top Hit--TOOLS--then Folder Options---then hit the VIEW tab
scroll thru the options till you see
    "Hidden Files and Folders"
and put a dot in "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
    --------------------------------------------------
So now when you "Explore" your sansa you should see a MUSIC folder
it'll look transparent, but thats the Music folder
    Hope that helps ya
    Peace

    Hey Corell031
Your having a bad trip with this thing huh?
    Anyway
WMP11 is still a beta version I think, so I havent tried it yet although I have read it is better with all this syncing and playlist stuff
I was asking about what version you were using because the sansa is only compatible with wmp10 and up
OK so not sure where your exactley at now, I would try this first
You already activated the hidden files on your computer so you can see the MUSIC folder etc right?
Now connect the sansa, go into the sansa(EXPLORE) where the music folder is find the SYSTEM folder, open it inside there will be a DATA folder
open that and find Pp5000.dat ,highlight it and delete it
Disconnect the sansa from the computer (The Correct way)
and the sansa will restart and rebuild its Data base
should get you back to where you were and MAY fix the initial problem
    hopefully
    BTW
What firmware version are you running on your sansa?

what music service are you using? are you paid up..in other words are these songs suppossed to be playing?
and did you look at those programs TUNEBITE and FairUse4WM
there supposed to strip the DRM and allow you to keep playing your music
Ive never used them because all my music is ripped from my own CD collection
    good luck

check and see if you have a check mark next to "copy protect music"
in your options on the wmp
go into the menu > tools> options> then the "rip music tab" then make sure theres no check mark next to "copy protect music"
    good luck bro

    Hey Corell031
have you tried deleteing that DAT file like I explained above?
Sometimes it'll help fix corrupt files or other weird issues
I pretty much do it every time I add/delete music, just to get a fresh rebuild....I'd give it a try before going thru all the trouble of deleting/reloading all your music
    heres how

You already activated the hidden files on your computer so you can see the MUSIC folder etc right?
Now connect the sansa,rt clik my computer, rt clik the sansa go into the sansa(EXPLORE) where the music folder is find the SYSTEM folder, open it inside there will be a DATA folder
open that and find Pp5000.dat ,highlight it and delete it
Disconnect the sansa from the computer (The Correct way)
and the sansa will restart and rebuild its Data base
Might clear whatever is stopping the music from playing
    good luck
