Im going to be upgrading my pc shortly
& was wondering what would be the best proccesor:-

    a quad core q6600 or a dual core e6600..

i would be mostly using the pc for watching tv,
playing games & listening to music & watching films..

the E6600 should be perfect for what you are doing. anything more like Ps, and a Q core would be good. but better and cheaper then the E6600 is the E6750, and its faster at stock.

Unless you regularly do mega CPU-intensive tasks like editing video using professional software, a Core 2 Duo is much more suitable.

I use the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R which is an all round excellent board. There is no 'best' motherboard to use, only good ones and bad ones.
