Hi I have a modded working gamecube with a viper gc chip and latest version of cobra bios 1.2 and i was wondering if there is anyway to run the qoob bios on the cobra modchip because the features sound better especially force running of games in certain graphics modes such as ntsc.
Wow, I didn't know the Qoob could do that... however, don't worry. There is some good news: since they're obviously competing, you can expect Cobra BIOS 1.3 or 1.4 to include the update. (And Cobra has some features over Qoob, such as built-in support for cheat codes, that will also probably be featured in a future Qoob update.) But no, there is no way to run Qoob BIOS on a Viper GC. Qoob is made for the Qoob chip only and Cobra is made for the Viper chip only. Sorry.
The Gcos bios also has this feature but it does not have direct boot and is lacking simplicity. I have found a way of doing what i wanted though... I wanted to get forced boot aka running a pal or jap game in ntsc tv settings on the cobra bios. the long and only way i know of doing it currently is to burn a disk with the Gcos bios and run the dol version of it, then pop the disk out while still spinning, it will stop spinning, next put in an original and click boot backup. Then from there you can run games and force it to run in different video modes.
