Hey. I've tried searching everywhere to solve my problems, but nothing has really worked yet. I'm wondering if my chip is a defect. I really hope it isn't because then I'm gonna have to wait even longer to try this all out. But here's the problem. Without the chip, everything works fine. When I put in the chip, and connect all the blue wires, I get the check lid switch error. Everything is soldered correctly, according to the diagram. My skills with soldering are very good, so that's not the problem. If I leave the original lid switch in, then I get a black screen and nothing happens. The fan will spin and the chip lights up. I've resoldered the points many times and there are no traces of solder touching multiple points, other than the bridged black wire. I have no idea what could be wrong. That's how it is now. When I first put in the chip, I didn't get the check lid wire message. It just wouldn't read the discs, original or burned. So I adjusted the pot to 195. Then I got that error, so then tried it with the original lid switch. Then everything was working fine. I loaded both original and burned games. But then it stopped working a little later. I got the black screen. I didn't do anything other than put the case back together, so I don't know why it would stop working. And yes, I did use electric tape to keep the wires away from the heatsink. I'm using the 1.3c bios. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Only suggestion I have is to try deleting the Bios and Re-Flashing it to see if thats a problem, further troubleshooting would include un soldering all the points and see if the GC still works normaly if not chances are your lasers fried otherwise the Chip is a Defect
Are you sure you hooked up the lid terminals correctly? The Qoob Pro plugs directly into where the lid switch is, then the original terminal plugs into that.
