I uninstalled my old QT-6 player, and installed the new QT-7 player, and now I get no audio playing my .mov files on my QT or any other player (like my VLC player). I can't get G-Spot to tell me about this.

What audio codec do I need for QT (.mov) files and where do I download it?

    Thanks.

mov is just a container. It can use various audio formats. What does QT report about the audio?

I've got sound now, but with that major time-lag echoey-flutter that I've seen others complain about elsewhere with QT 7.

These are QuickTime files I've downloaded, and the audio flutter happens both on my QT7 Player and my VLC v.0.8.4 player (the only other player I know that will play QT vids.) It also is happening with older clips I burned to CD-R long ago, and know that the sound on those clips is good, so it must be some codec, since it's cross-player and not a function (fault) of the file, right?? no??

Anyone got an idea for a fix?

I found the solution - setting my Conrtol Panel > QuickTime> ....>.... Audio Playback > Hardware acceleration slider to "Full" (default position); it was close to "None" on the left end of the slider for some reason. That fixed the bad audio for all QuickTime files - on the net (IE and Firefox, saved on hard drive, and saved on CD-R.)
