I just got done reading an article at tomshardware.com about the new dual core 7800gtx from azus! It can be linked to another dual core in sli for a quad sli setup! The people at toms hardware had issues with it working in sli, and the way it sounds the cards really dont work in sli yet. After azus and nvidia work out the problems with the card im sure quad sli will be possible! Oh, and the card is only $829 on newegg! lol
there already is quad sli. but the GPUs arent dual core its just 4 graphics cards on one board. dell and nvidia made the quad sli machine and its a freakin beast of a gamer it had 4 x 512 7800s in and a dual core intel processor (like youd expect anything less from a dell :S)
Hmmm, I saw that too, but they're not designed to work together, and compatibility issues result. At present, anything above a single card is unnecessary. I'd much rather have one powerful GPU than two lower spec ones, or for that matter two high spec ones. In a large number of games it's currently detrimental to performance. Theoretically up to 8 can be connected together, but really, two should be your limit. One if you're sensible. When games fully support twin-core graphics properly, it will make more sense, but that's late 06, at the earliest.
